Walz and stolen valor

For all you military folks who are my heroes here, it made my heart soar to listen to these vets get after Tampon Tim in a public forum, even if it was just to say f()[/< you!

He is as typical lying demon :smiling_face_with_horns: ic rat :rat:, full of ā– ā– ā– ā–  :poop: and untrustworthy. His word is meaningless, of no value, just like him. In a tactical situation I would keep him in front of me, never let him behind me.

The linked article said, ā€œWalz was a sitting Congressman in 2009 lying about his rank. He should be charged.ā€ [emphasis added]

He should be shamed and held in comptempt socially, but there is nothing here to charge him. The original ā€œStolen Valorā€ law, which made it illegal to falsely claim military or veteran status, was determined to be unConstitutional as a violation of freedom of speech under the First Amendment. A new stolen valor law was passed and signed, making it illegal to obtain money using a false claim of military or veteran status. For instance, selling a book as a (false) veteran claiming to be true stories of that experience, or getting paid as a speaker on ā€œtrueā€ military experiences, could be charged for stolen valor crime.

Those are the details. That does not change the general cultural use of stolen valor as a term of social offense by falsely claiming veteran status, whether by direct claim, or by wearing uniforms or uniform items.

As for T@mp0n Tim, he could truthfully say, ā€œI served s a Command Sergeant Major,ā€ but it is a lie every time he says, ā€œI am a retired Command Sergeant Major.ā€

Quitting after you were alerted about a deployment is just despicable, in my opinion. That demonstrates the extreme lack of leadership and integrity. There is no valid reason to voluntarily abandon your troops.

He needed to make sure he stayed in one piece so he could grift off the masses.

ā€œDelightedā€ he received what was coming to him for this…
I can only imagine how you guys feel about this…
Donald Trump avoided the military draft 5 times. It wasn’t uncommon for individuals from influential families to do so during the Vietnam War.
George W Bush Texas Air National Guard to skip out on Vietnam. That he did not complete.
Clinton attempted to avoid the draft for four years by enrolling, but never joining, the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. He received education deferments
Just more of the same…

Ok I see your point and raise you one…
Let’s talk about Bush. They were able to play at being patriots while hiding behind the skirts of a politically motivated governor.. John Connolly had not and would not allow the Texas Air National Guard to be tapped for combat duty.
So how is this really different… What kind of patriotism–what kind of courage–wants the uniform but not the risk?

you are correct but none of those claimed to have been in combat.

I understand what you are saying… Hopefully you can see the point in this also…

George W. Bush claims that questioning the validity of his service in the Texas Air National Guard insults the men and women who have served there and been in combat. This is a disgusting perversion of the truth.. Almost all of his opponents for president had to live through having their own real service (boots on the ground) in Vietnam publicly questioned…
This is definitely not the same lie .
It does however rise to the level of lying, about your service to this country..

Again not to diminish what Walts has done .. Also very glad he is being called out for it …

UNLESS, of course, he was a coward to begin with and just achieved rank solely through outlasting other, more honorable individuals in his unit.

Sadly, more than his being the only coward in this regard, quick glance at past Prominent politicians will expose several of similar mien.

And yet, you decide to inject Trump and Bush comments, somehow trying to suggest ā€œThe other side does it tooā€. That’s freaking bitter pettiness, and I’m not at all surprised.

You infer that since republicans do it, fair is fair, we shouldn’t be surprised Walz did it.

Neither republican represents stolen valor here, only Walz.

Like always you just see what you want. Maybe I have to write it larger so you can 'ā€œSEEā€ it, CLINTON

You just want to twist it to make it about something else… I would imagine you also believe… You can only steal money with a GUN also, if I was to use your line of thinking…

The point is there are a few ways to steal valor .. You can argue one is worse than the other…

If this somehow massages your republican only… Bush Senior At the end of his period of active service, Bush had flown 58 missions, completed 128 carrier landings, and recorded 1228 hours of flight time. A 20 year-old US Navy aviator was winning himself the Distinguished Flying Cross. George Herbert Walker Bush would later describe his experience of war as ā€œsoberingā€. He was a great man.. Even though he got shot down on a mission … Not sure what trump would say about that.. After what he had to say about McCain …
