Evidence, or at least references, please. I have never heard anything making that accusation. As for W’s service, he was an air defense interceptor pilot, a category of service that would only be used in and at the borders of the USA, not as deployed to Viet Nam.

That was the fraudulent reporting by Dan Rather at 60 minutes, based on phony letters produced by Rather’s “inside source.” Rather and his producer were both fired by CBS because of the lies they told about W. W finished his required time. He simply did not go to the training for the new interceptor his squadron was about to change to, since he was within 6 months of finishing his term in the Guard. It would gave been a major waste of money to send him to that course. The letter the source provided to 60 minutes was easily proven to have been made on a modern word processor, not a typewriter as used in the 1970s.

Bush, the nation’s 43rd president, was permanently suspended from flying with the Texas Air National Guard for having missed an annual medical examination.Because Bush did not take the exam during this time frame, his commander suspended his flight status. The decision to do so was confirmed by Col. Bobby Hodges on Sept. 5, 1972, and re-confirmed by a National Guard Bureau order on Sept. 29 of that year.
As a presidential candidate in 2000, Bush said he wanted wait to take the physical until it could be done by his own private doctor. However, Air Guard regulations require that the physical be performed by an Air Force doctor. Moreover, flight surgeons conducted Bush’s two previous physical exams.
According to his military records, Bush never flew again as an Air National Guard pilot after April 1972. He received an honorable discharge from the Air National Guard in 1973 to attend Harvard Business School.

Take note Craig and I were having a discussion … I did not call him any names .. He asked me to show him where i found what I wrote… I said sure. I pointed out some things. He point out the Killian doc … I was aware of them and showed him other stuff I have read …
