Trusting God is the only security in this insecure world.

MILITARY SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Trey Gowdy , a former South Carolina Congressman, responded to a question from a CNN reporter about the ban of transgenders from joining the U.S. armed forces. As Trey typically does so very well, he nailed it rather succinctly.

Question: How can President Trump claim to represent all U.S citizens, regardless of sexual orientation, when he banned transgenders from joining the military? Isn’t that discrimination?

Trey Gowdy’s Response: “Nobody has a right to serve in the Military. Nobody! What makes you people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? It is very far from it - and for good reasons - let me cite a few”

The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short. Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers." he went on to explain: "By the way, poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identification as a Unicorn?

Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair?" "Can’t run the required course in the required time?

Can’t do the required number of push-ups? Not really a morning person? and refuse to get out of bed before noon?

All can be legitimate reasons for denial"

"The Military has one job: Winning War. Anything else is a distraction and a liability. Did someone just scream?

That isn’t Fair? War is VERY unfair, there are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful."

“YOU must change yourself to meet Military standards and not the other way around.”

"I say again: You don’t change the Military - you must change yourself. The Military is not about being fair, it is about taking advantage of others and about winning.

The Military doesn’t need to accommodate anyone with special issues. The Military needs to Win Wars and keep our Country safe - PERIOD!"

“If any of your personal issues are a liability that detract from readiness or lethality
Thank you for applying and good luck in your future endeavors.”

"Any other questions ???

I found this and Posted it in response to some folk’s who actually think the Military
( Pete Hegseth and President Trump) are being too hard on some people.
But I am extremely happy to hear NOT EVERYBODY gets a ‘Participation Trophy’
and Automatically get’s a Uniform ‘Just because they Joined!’.
We (Our Military) has been weakened by the last Administration and I am glad to see it’s changing for the better.

Where We Go 1 We Go All

If your job is to win then “discrimination” is a necessity. I would ask you to forget your bias and apply this same approach to professional sports. I don’t need to tell anyone that they only draft the cream of the crop; and even that is no guarantee you’ll make the cut. And then even the best of the best will come under fire from the fans if they don’t perform. Now let’s make the ultimate comparison. Sports is win or lose. War is life and death, not only for the combatants, but for the country they represent. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m very glad we’re no longer compromising.

If memory serves, in Delta-6-3, 1976 we had about 25% recycle rate and probably another 10% wash outs. No questions asked, do this today or pack your sh!+ tonight

Charlie-2-1, Ft. Jackson SC in the summer of 1977, our washout rate was a little over 40%. The early years of the all volunteer military were pretty wild.

Ok
nobody laugh
I mean it. I enlisted in the Air Force. Quit laughing.

Our first night in the dormitory (not a barracks - we were Air Force) all the Training Instructors (not Drill Instructors - we were Air Force) were stomping up and down yelling and screaming, throwing our cots around, all the blankets and pillows were on the floor
But they never touched us or our personal stuff. Three guys quit that night because they couldn’t handle all the yelling and screaming.

I was laughing.

One of the TI’s came up to me and demanded in his fiercest voice an explanation for my laughter. I said it was all a game. He leaned in and whispered that if I told anyone else he would destroy me.

Within the next week 5 more guys were gone because they couldn’t handle all the marching in a straight line we had to do. As training went on more guys left because they were from up North and couldn’t handle the August heat in Texas.

Even with us being one of the easier branches to serve in, there were still people who couldn’t handle it.

I won’t laugh at you being in the Air Force if you don’t laugh when I thank you for your service.

No worries, Brother.

I can take the ribbing from other servicemembers, and we take the “Chair Force” nickname to heart because most of our members did/do have nice indoor office jobs with comfy chairs. Me, on the other hand, spend my time outdoors in the blistering heat or freezing rain working on the airplanes.

I won’t laugh at that, Brother. It was My Honor to serve.

I have a really good friend who served in the Air Force he tells us all the time the only Stars they counted were the ones for the hotel they were staying in.

We had Air Force Weathermen on our air field, the Army doesn’t have weather as an MOS, or didn’t in the middle 70’s, they hated it. They had to eat in our mess halls not the cafeterias they were used to. Had to attend morning formations at 0600.

I joined the U.S. ARMY in 1973 and my basic was in Ft. Dix, NJ. You know what’s in Ft. Dix, sand and pine trees. We were the last cadre of troops before the army tried the all new latest and greatest type of basic, co-ed. My DIs were not happy. They could still hit your clothing, but not you. We had a great time. Our one DI wasn’t back from Vietnam for more than 2 weeks and said he couldn’t handle this and went back. The co-ed program did not work so I heard.

I got to Fort Dix in Oct 1976, Delta Co. was an all male training company. There were female training companies but I wasn’t aware of any mixed male/female companies.
