Victory! We Won Over Tyranny And Another Domestic Terrorist Goes Down!

I doubt it.

With this most recent post, you have still not articulated why I should come around to your way of thinking, only reiterated your rantings from the original post.

Who are your partners? Perhaps one of them is able to speak with a more civil tone and properly articulate your reasoning. You certainly are not. You also do not care about any opinion here other than your own because you did not reply to my request in without profanity or name calling.

I do not condone Hilton’s actions after Hinton was out of the vehicle. Up until that point he was operating within the law. The beat down was excessive.

I also do not condone Hinton’s actions BEFORE getting out of the car. He should have been more civil. The crime was articulated early in the altercation. With a crime being committed, the one committing the crime, in this case Hinton, MUST IDENTIFY himself to the officer involved. Instead, Hinton continued being uncivilized. He was taken out of the vehicle by force.

Mr. Hinton probably had previously in his life a bad experience with law enforcement which has skewed his view on all law enforcement officers. I will give that not all law enforcement officers are out there to protect us, the citizens. There are some out there for their own power trip. I get it, but MOST law enforcement officers are out there to keep us safe.

I would also hazard a guess that you have had a less than favorable incident will law enforcement also. Going strictly off the terminology you have utilized in this thread calling them “Pigs” and “Oinkers” I would say that you hate all law enforcement. Just a guess.

Stop the name calling.
Stop the profanity.
Articulate your thoughts logically and civilly.
Then we can have a conversation, and I will listen.

Whoa! Don! Is that you pokin’ that bear?!

I didn’t realize you’re a woman.

Anyway, you shouldn’t mess around with bears. They have this habit of killing people all of a sudden for no apparent reason.

Now, things would have turned out differently for Mr. Hinson had he done a few things differently…

He is a perfect gentleman, but was a bit careless on a few items…

First of all, personally, I would never have parked there for a rest. Bad location. I would have gotten a room, or if I wanted to rest in my car, I would have found a more populated area and well lit, like a Walmart parking lot or truck stop.

Next, he was sitting there with his window open and his door unlocked. Big mistake. All doors must be shut, locked, windows all the way up. Keep out the stray cops, hoodlums, animals, weather, unwanted surprises, etc.

His biggest mistake was not the manner in which he talked to that cop – but in the fact that he talked to that cop at all. He should have invoked his 5th and 6th Amendments and told the cop nothing. Obey lawful orders and zip it!

Not speaking to cops deescalates. Your words and demeanor don’t need to be bad. Whatever you say is going to lead to escalation if that’s what the cop is after. So say nothing. Never speak to the police under any circumstances.

I never speak to police under any circumstances. They are immediately put off by that and want to get rid of me ASAP. I’ve not even had a traffic ticket since 2001. I plead the 5th, 6th, inform him he does not have consent to search by handing him a card with that info written on it – and he wants to get away from me fast!

And of course I don’t get pulled over anyway. I don’t speed or drive recklessly, ever.

All this is not to say that doing all these things is going to prevent a beating from a cop or getting mauled by a gang of thugs. But do whatever it takes to decrease the chances of any of that happening.

I haven’t mentioned this post until now. I wanted to wait and see if anyone on the forum would put forth the advice that Mr. Hinson should have invoked his Rights and kept quiet. Of course no one did.

The days of Freedom in America are sadly over now and we disintegrate by the day. These are the last days of empire. Government, police and miltary, the very guys who swore an oath to protect our sacred documents have never read them and do not know their own Rights. These guys have failed us and our country is gone and there is no bringing it back. It’s not safe anywhere anymore. Take every precaution and be glad about it.

You do realize that there is a 5th amendment? I don’t have to cooperate with police unless I have a lawyer present! You sound like a tyrant looking to intimidate the public into blindly obeying you. I would sue you so fast it would make your head spin! You are just as accountable under the law as everybody else! Live with it.

Oh plucking whaa. Get a different job if you can’t handle it. I didn’t become a cop for exactly those reasons back in the 80s. Don’t violate a person’s rights, act professional and respect others. A lot of cops heads swell when they put that shirt on with those patches. I’ve seen it.

I got two things to say to this whole thread…

First, about the video. I don’t know about the state where that happened, but in Florida, you are required by law to simply identify yourself when asked by an officer, regardless of why he or she is asking. No ifs, ands or buts, you say your name. (Edited to add, see below for more discussion on Florida stop and ID law). That doesn’t excuse the cops assault, and hopefully he gets justice.

Second, regarding Ted, don’t engage this guy. I don’t believe he is who he says he is. He’s brand new on here and comes on with this disdain for officers and more, baiting people to join his rhetoric. He’s not acting like any USCCA member I know, and not behaving to the standards of a law-abiding group like USCCA. Remember, this is a public forum and anyone can join and pretend to be anything they want to be.

For me, I just blocked him because I don’t want to see this hateful crap or be a part of it.

Shame on FL then. KY isn’t a stop and ID state. Cops have to have a reason and arrest you before it’s mandatory to ID. You just gave me a reason to never go to FL.

Seig hail!

PS: yes I do know there are a lot of good laws in FL but that one is a red line for me.

A quick search shows:
You are only expected to identify yourself to Florida law enforcement officers (police officers and Sheriff’s deputies, not immigration or FBI agents) when you are stopped on suspicion of a crime or a traffic violation

Then FL isn’t a stop and ID state as you apparently state. Knowing the laws makes a difference. Why are you misleading people?

I’m not intentionally misleading anyone. My mistake, as I had misunderstood the law. Thanks for correcting me.

Here is the actual law as written in Florida. The law says criminal activity. However, further searching seems to indicate that it is applied to any time an officer stops to engage with anyone suspected of any violation, including traffic, for example.

All the search results I could pull up definitely state that Florida is a “stop and ID state.”
