I joined for the insurance, with the training as a big differentiator. I joined in spite of being a resident of Maryland, effectively a “won’t issue” state, i.e. like 99.5% of MD residents, I cannot carry.

I joined for the insurance, which hopefully I will never need; but even if I never need it, I feel good that the money I spend will help other people who are wrongly accused in a self-defense situation.
