Unlocked vehicles = LOSS

In Polk County, Florida, late night car handle flipper was caught on Secutity Cameras facing a homeowners driveway and it also could see a few of the neighbors driveways.
Sheriff’s report said a few wallets were taken, also two handguns, a Glock and a Smith and Wesson.
I listed this in the Training category because there are still to many people who need training or more training on how to be responsible with a firearm.

The USCCA needs to take your advice in its home page. I rarely see it, but when I signed out earlier today, I saw this:

Could be from an advertising agency staff who doesn’t know anything about gun safety.

OK, just a, silly question, from me. Am I the only one that Does Not Leave My Wallet, Gun, Lap Top, Tablet, Wife, Baby, Groceries… in an unlocked car in a drive way or parking lot EVER especially ALL Night?

Not even inside my locked garage!

I left my now ex-wife in the car once. Unfortunately, when I returned, she was still there.

I had my get home bag stolen one night I forgot to lock my vehicle. They moved the gun safe but it was empty so they left that. I had 2 knives that I used when I was in the Corps that are not replaceable. I had a lot of good stuff in the pack. Now I keep it by my front door at night and I was thinking of putting a training gun in the gun safe with a note saying, F&^% YOU!

That maybe, but still no excuse for using it on their home page, especially titled, “Responsibly Armed Americans”.

Of course. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Bout 15 tears ago.

I drove to a sporting goods store, parking lot was dim, but not dark, all the cars were parked inward. One car was parked outward with a fellah sitting inside of it, on the phone.

I regret that I parked, that should have been my red flag to leave. I later figured he was pretending to be on the phone – he was watching me trying to figure how he could rob me, his car being the only car pointed outward for a quicker getaway.

My car was actually locked, but no alarm. I left my car, went in the store, shopped, on my return, my door locked was punched open, interior in disarray, console lock was punched holed opened, figured he used a screwdriver, my stereo was stolen, dash panel stereo adapter was stolen, ripped out of the dash. I called police who made a report.

Never parked my car again there. Now I leave my glove box and console unlocked, but I carry a few steel lock boxes – all locked. I watch my surroundings more carefully now, and leave or move if at all suspicious.

Glad I made a report though, with its receipt number, another item I lost was replaced by the seller per their practice if it was ever stolen.

Figuring out ways to slow them down so I’m less of a target.
