Trump's unconstitutional gun ban overturned by SCOTUS

Because there are enough people who say they are voting for him to make it likely that I will have to deal with him having significant sway over my rights for 4 more years and beyond.

I just want to make sure that those who are considering voting for him have some facts to base their votes on instead of just campaign slogans. I do the same with pointing out Biden’s record.

From my viewpoint the country goes down the toilet no matter which one of the current two options wins. There isn’t enough Ex-Lax in the world to make that sick feeling in my stomach go away.

I can understand and even respect someone picking one flawed candidate over the other. But if we keep voting for the clearly flawed candidates the two parties keep presenting us with then I feel there is no chance for us to ever be presented with less flawed options.

So lately I have been voting for the least corrupt candidate which usually ends up being someone from the Libertarians, Greens or an independent. If enough people voted for third party candidates then there is a chance that those fringe parties start getting enough support to challenge the current corrupt parties running the show. Or at the very least the Republican a Democrat leadership will start feeling their hold on power start to slip enough that they will feel the need to try and choose some less flawed candidates to gain back some support.

Support for the two parties is clearly falling. Some poles show that 70% of Americans want neither Trump or Biden. For once I am not in the minority;) No matter which one wins most of the country will end up being very unhappy. When the Constitution was written it was never assumed that two parties would have a stranglehold on the government. I very much feel if we do not break that stranglehold the country has no chance of undoing the incredible amount of damage those two parties have done and will continue to do.

It was a Trump admin, Trump era ATF ban. No question about that.
I’m still hopeful 47 would do a better job in the 2A arena than 45.

That [‘gun guys’ not caring about politicians attacking the RKBA] is precisely what I care about.

Correct as usual, Shamrock.

Some very important facts are being swept under the rug, heads in hand, absolute refusal to admit reality.

At Trumps direction. We constantly blame Biden for what the ATF does now because it’s “Biden’s ATF”…let’s not change the rules depending on who we are talking about

Fortunately his other ban wishes didn’t get through.

Has he said he won’t come after those guns rights if he has another shot?

This conversation is getting to be a bore and repetitive. Have a nice day. :slightly_smiling_face:

I would say the same if my guy was coming after our gun rights that hard

I’m actually concerned it would go the other way as far as the 2A is concerned. If Trump doesn’t have to worry about Republican votes anymore he might let his anti 2A stance show through even more clearly. He did threaten to use executive action to ban “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines if Congress didn’t pass those laws. There would be nothing to stop him from pushing for that again.

He would also be much more able to successfully push through an anti 2A agenda than Biden since all the other pro 2A pretenders on the Republican side will stand up to Biden for political pandering reasons. They won’t stand up to Trump.

It took 6 years to undo Trump’s biggest success on the anti 2A front. Even though Biden has been using the same precedent Trump set to enact more anti 2A laws most of his efforts are being held up in court and have not yet had any real effect outside of motivating more pro 2A voters to support Trump.

In the likely event that Trump gets elected I would expect him to start off working on passing a couple of token pro 2A actions to raise his popularity with his base. But after the next mass murderer event I see him quickly jumping back on the 2A Ban Wagon. That would help him raise his popularity with a whole new crowd.

When it comes to a choice between Trump and Biden, anyone who has been paying attention to the systematic destruction of our country in the last four years has all the facts they will ever need to make their decision. (Can I get an AMEN!) How can any real AMERICAN ignore the last four years, or even begin to favorably compare the traitor with Trump?

If standing on the edge of a cliff beating a dead horse causes even just a couple people to pause and think before they take that last step then I am happy to do it even when the majority of people to my Right and Left are sneering at me and calling me names as they willingly step off into oblivion;)

Well, no, it was Trump behind it. At some point we need to take our heads out of the sand and admit reality

On February 20, 2018, President Trump issued a memorandum instructing the Attorney General “to dedicate all available resources to… propose for notice and comment a rule banning all devices that turn legal weapons into machineguns.”

https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/presidential-actions/presidential-memorandum-application-definition-machinegun-bump-fire-stocks-similar-devices/

After the deadly mass murder in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 1, 2017, I asked my Administration to fully review how the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives regulates bump fire stocks and similar devices.

Although the Obama Administration repeatedly concluded that particular bump stock type devices were lawful to purchase and possess, I sought further clarification of the law restricting fully automatic machineguns.

Accordingly, following established legal protocols, the Department of Justice started the process of promulgating a Federal regulation interpreting the definition of “machinegun” under Federal law to clarify whether certain bump stock type devices should be illegal. The Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking was published in the Federal Register on December 26, 2017. Public comment concluded on January 25, 2018, with the Department of Justice receiving over 100,000 comments.

Today, I am directing the Department of Justice to dedicate all available resources to complete the review of the comments received, and, as expeditiously as possible, to propose for notice and comment a rule banning all devices that turn legal weapons into machineguns.

Although I desire swift and decisive action, I remain committed to the rule of law and to the procedures the law prescribes. Doing this the right way will ensure that the resulting regulation is workable and effective and leaves no loopholes for criminals to exploit. I would ask that you keep me regularly apprised of your progress.

You are authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

DONALD J. TRUMP

What a strange reality you seem to be living in. So anyone who does not agree with your fervent belief that Trump has nothing but this country’s best interests at heart and will somehow magically save the world by doing the same things that got us into this mess in the first place is a radical far left Communist? By your definition the vast majority of the nation is a totally lost cause. You must be very certain that the only winning option is believing everything Trump says on the campaign trail and unquestioningly following him?

You strike me as an intelligent and thoughtful human being. If someone like you views everyone who isn’t lockstep marching with them as being completely against them then the divide and concur movement has been far more successful than I had feared.
