I’m of the opinion that lack of training should not exclude one from purchasing and possessing a firearm.
While education and training are definitely important for proper use and safety, that education should be voluntary, not compulsory.

This echoes my first thoughts and, without knowing his age at first, I also suspected he was of whatever-they-call this new generation. Bingo!

All he has to do is claim he is Alec Baldwin or at least use his defense. Yes, this was a complete idiotic move on his part and should have at the very least had the magazine removed from the handgun.
Exactly, except for one additional process after removing the magazine “RACK THE SLIDE” to remove the bullet in the chamber and make sure it’s clear. But all in all, even practicing drawing from a holster (dry firing) one should NEVER POINT the firearm at anyone, just saying.
