Sea Salt! (It’s what’s for dinner!)

Stop it! I’m getting hungry!

I’m wondering what is a true difference between Sea Salt, Kosher Salt and Halal Salt…

The only salt that is neither one that I can recognize is Himalayan salt. It is pink and tastes as if Sherpa pissed on it… :upside_down_face:

I’m a slat fiend! They do all have different tastes and texture, kosher is supposed to be blessed by a rabbi? I don’t know, it’s definitely better for cooking than table salt!

Sea salt is my second cooking salt,

Himalayan salt is what I use in lieu of table salt

I had some Peruvian pink salt that was absolutely off the hook good!

And a coworker mentioned something about a Scottish salt that is super high in beneficial minerals,… still looking for that stuff….

Thanks Jerzees, I’m not hungry anymore… :smirk:

Just keep the Peruvian flake away from Hunter!

That ain’t what I’m thinking - insects - right? I don’t do bugs. Beef, Pork, Chicken, Salmon, Tuna. But no damn bugs.

You forgot Hawaiian Salt. Which can be dark orange but is usually white flake. I think Kauai has the premiere type.

No buggs in that chili!

Peppers, pork, tomatoes, onion, and spices,… no bugs in my recipe at all!

TRUTH. I LOVE IT. If only the majority of American people could understand this.

So I lived half my life in Hawaii where guns are extremely difficult to purchase. 30 day waiting period, no CCW unless you can prove you need it - doesn’t matter they won’t give you one anyway, yada yada yada. In all that time I never once encountered a violent incident (discounting school-yard fights). The only reason I was around guns was because I was on the high school rifle team. Outside of that - no guns. One month after I moved to the states, I bought a pistol after watching the local news. Then I got a job where I was required to carry. The level of violence in the continental U.S. is by many countries’ standards, off the charts. I’ll never understand why this country is so violent. But I am now very comfortable with guns and I carry all day, every day.

I cook for myself, and occasionally my kids.

Make me a cheeseburger.

It isn’t. There are a number of “hot” spots, but the vast majority of the country does not have a violent crime issue. Look at the crime map in London, or just about any other major city. Where I live, crime of any sort is practically non-existant. Children leave their bikes and toys in the yards and they are still there the next, day after… Crime map shows nothing, either.

I don’t understand why there is so much pork and salt.
