The Soaring Price Of Eggs

Yes, have had the blueish green too, being brought up in farming/ranch with my parents and grandparents, we always had fresh eggs, fresh milk (cows/goats), fresh meat/pork/chicken/beef/lamb!!! fresh vegetables (garden grown), most of my life until about mid forty’s when farming just dwindles off, property gets sold etc… Surely miss those days, but great memories! :grinning:

We used to have a local farmer who would deliver a dozen fresh eggs to our door every week for $5. Then the Covid shortages started and a big supplier made a contract to take all the eggs they had:(

Now we have a neighbor who occasionally drops of eggs for free when they have extra:) But it’s not regular enough that we don’t have to pick some up at the store a couple times a month. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten non free range eggs but at these prices we may have to go back to them pretty soon.

Fond memories indeed. My great mamaw kept a milk cow and I remember the gallon mason jars with a cloth over the top in her fridge. Then when the gubment started pushing 2% milk everybody was saying who would drink that stuff.

That’s the backside of my Bowie sheath.

Eggs are about FRN5.50 here.

I thought the President has control over the price of eggs? Wasn’t that why everyone said it was Biden’s fault? So why isn’t this Trump’s fault?

Because it started under FJB.

OK, so then how long are we going to give Trump a pass before it becomes his fault?

I’m not giving him a pass on anything. When one of his policies goes sideways I’ll call him out. Why was FJB given a pass for a minimum of two years about his dementia? MSM covered it up and you say nothing.

My best understanding of why eggs are so high is because of Bird Flu.

Something like 15 million birds have died of Avian Flu since December 2024.

This trend will continue for the foreseeable future. The flu still rages.

Former Pres. KENYATTA is the goods. God bless him.

1 dozen eggs for 8.00 making each egg cost .67 cents apiece. Making a three-egg omelet cost you 6.70 but then you want cheese, ham, onions, and peppers and topped off with a sausage gravy and hash browns. Now you are paying 20.00! BUT WAIT, you have not gotten your coffee and that’ll cost you $5.00. Now it will cost you 25.00 unless you want toast. You want toast? Well, that is another three dollars.

Wow that escalated quickly. You need ten 67¢ eggs to make a 3 egg omelette? :scream_cat::joy::rofl:

Food cost + 30% = food sales

That’s 1000% though, which sounds closer to the truth anyway.

I got a dozen free yesterday. I pay 26 dollars a month for feed it doesn’t take long for those girls to pay off their feed.
