I have sprayed a dog before. With a Stream pattern. It worked.
My guess is that it’s similar to people and getting it in the eyes is what really matters. I tend to shy away from fog or mist because I don’t want to get blowback to myself if I can avoid it. If so, then so, I know what it’s like I’ve been sprayed I can more or less deal with it, but, it does suck…gel gets good reports overall. I have the big one of those two by our front door.
Not changing the subject but an interesting fact. In WWI, the reason the germans stopped using gas was that it blew back on them just as often as it did on the allies.
Years ago I owned a Stafordshire named Shasta she looked something like this.
Great dog, had her around my baby daughters while they were growing up. THEN, one day out of the blue, sitting at a bus stop in Salt Lake City, an elderly woman come walking by and Shasta, for no reason apparent to me, goes ape ■■■■ crazy. No doubt in my mind she would have killed that poor woman.
Then a month or so later, sitting on a bench at Mount Rushmore a teenage boy walks up to admire her, again full on viscous attack mode for no apparent reason. In both cases I had a harness and a leash on her, Thank God. We loved her, she was a family member for many years but after those two events we couldn’t trust her any more. She finished out her life with a friend of mine in the auto salvage business as a junk yard dog.
That sh-- works EXCELLENT Brother!
I have (1) in each vehicle, My duty belt and in my sisters car and nightstand!
God Bless Amazon !
(I mean that, no joke)
I’m NO Expert (on anything brother)
but my Opinion is I would use the ‘Fogger’ on animals
instead of the GEL. I don’t know if it would Freak the
animals out too much, not being able to get the sh-- off!
With fogger it might be easier for them to run away afterwards?
I don’t know Just my two cents. that Gel is a Beeotch, I’d use it on a THUG
HUMAN no sweat! They earned it. But my soft spot for fido may be clouding
my judgement. Humans deserve to get what they get! (reap what they…and all that)
Animals may be just listening to their owners or over reacting to a stranger…
Neve got attacked by the Fido’s in the world (Thank God) but Fogger is better than
shooting them, I just couldn’t do that, My soul would be dented. Just my Opinion.
Nah, Knowing you a bit I didn’t think she/he was a poodle.
I call all dogs Puppies. Big ole dog sniffs my crotch I say "Hey puppy in a
slightly shaky nervous (isn’t this dog special kind of voice)
What is wrong with ppl these days? Out walking Bandit again, on leash. I hear a car coming and we get a foot or two in the grass. Here comes a Blazer speeding down the road right on the edge of the pavement flipping me off . I wasn’t too worried this time as I had bear spray on one hip and my 92S on the other.
I’ve never had things like this for the last 8 years I’ve lived out here. Ppl were always cordial, waving to say hi. Then this year its like a-holes have come out of the woods. I am ready for them now.
People are changing. I live in a very small, little “old Florida” neighborhood with about 18 houses total, all different, some very modest and some really fancy. EVERYONE used to know each other, wave, chat and be generally really good to each other. My old friend Lee, who was disabled, spent most of his days (and nights) on his front porch keeping an eye out and generally making sure no one that didnt belong made it down the steeet. I’m at the very end, at the dead end, and I’d always get a call from Lee if something looked off.
Well, Lee has passed, the two empty lots were bought, and new houses built, some other old timers moved out, and suddenly the place is full of peolple no one knows. They never wave, or make eye contact, let alone talk, and it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. And, they haul ass theough in their Lexuses like it’s their own personal driveway. After 17 years here my wife and I are no longer planning on staying once we get to retirement. We were going to, because our own little spot is beautiful, but the people around us aren’t anymore, and it feels like it’s not home for the long term now.
We’ve seen the same thing in our condo. People stare at the floor, frightened, or suspicious of everyone. I try to lighten things up in the lobby and the elevators, it seems to work a little but nothing like it was 10 years ago.
Not trying to sound too old (but succeeding anyway).
NOTHING is like it was (10) years ago.
I’m not griping either. We made a life here, established, know where
everything is, don’t have to ponder where something may be or how to get
there. One of the unfortunate by-products of PTSD is familiarity eases the mind.
Same-Same is comforting. Knowing store locations and location of items in that store
calms the mind. Boring, routine is GOOD. I had mentioned earlier this year when I first
met you fine Men and Women that when we started with the ‘Home Improvements’
additional security some neighbors came out like curious cats. We met, introduced ourselves
and I helped outfit some of their home security/ defensive measures. But now months later
we are all back to hibernating/Isolating and really i am OK w/ that. I’m not going to keep extending
the ‘Olive branch’ my arms get tired. But God forbid if the Balloon ever did go up please don’t expect
open arms and a firearm to defend yourselves. Friends/Neighbors (for me) have to be a constant.
If they choose to be solitary then for me it’s solitary back. I’m NOT a survivalist, I have No great stores of food and water. If it all go’s to heck then it is up to each to fend for themselves. I have close friends that KNOW to come here. I WILL take all in. Plenty of room and hardware. That’s what friends are for. But if you don’t even wave hello? or ignore a smile. look away good luck and keep low. People think I am weird or fanatical w/ my Flag and gun on my hip even when I Detail a customers car. WHATEVER. It works for me, More 1944 C-rats for me and mine. Just kidding (1970)
