His new leash and halter came from Amazon today. We will try it out in the morning.

Well, the issue is if the person is willing to assault your pet, why wouldn’t they assault you, too? Seems logical to neutralize the threat before it is upon you.
A little Szechuan Sauce and I would be more likely to like any cat.
If someone attacks your dog or attempts to steal it AND the dog is on the leash, ie, physically attached to you, it gives more legal support to any defensive action you choose to take.
We took a walk this morning using the new harness and leash. He was very well behaved and no jerks drove by.
20 years ago we lived in a town that had a pet store next to a Chinese restaurant. The wife and I went to eat there one day and noticed a sign on the door: we do not use any cats or dogs in our food.
True story….
Only in your food.
we do not use any cats or dogs in our food.
Um, that’s just sad brother that they have to announce that.
Never did like Chinese food for some reason…now I have one
Ya know in China they just call it food… just saying
I could say the same for the “hush puppies” I had in Korea.
Went to Juarez a while back, funny, didn’t see a stray dog or cat anywhere. Just Sayin.
They all died in the crossfire.
Yeah, a buddy of mine in the Army when he came back from Korea told me about puppy soup.
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! SLUGGO!
HUSH PUPPIES!!!

You guy’s are sik man ! I LOVE IT!
If it ain’t one thing it’s another. New neighbors have moved in with their dbl wide down the street. Walking Bandito on his leash and their 8 year old is desperately holding back their pity. I don’t want to go down right now since I don’t know if any adults are home. I will tell them in a polite way that if their dog attacks mine I will own everything they have. Or use it to pay my medical and lawyer bills. Also I have ordered bear spray just in case.
I’m (still, lol) not a lawyer, but, just personally speaking, I don’t know if I’d initiate a conversation based on “if your dog attacks mine”, seems like a lot of opportunity for things to go sideways when it could be avoided.
As for a big ole spray…check this out:
Around here a lot of the “unhoused citizens” have Pit bulls. I get it, they can be helpful for protecting ones stuff and in a fight, but like you, I wonder how well controlled they are.
Will do my best to be tactful saying you know a lot of families walk this road, ppl on bikes, motorcycles, 4 wheelers etc. if your dog comes out to bite SOMEBODY might sue you. If the dumbass can’t figure out that I’m say I’ll sue him: thats on him. Then suggest him putting up a dog run or similar or fencing his yard. You’re correct I don’t want to start a feud.
I ordered a fogger a guy created after getting mauled by a bear and living. I wanted something to disperse that it would run into and get a lung full. Do you know how well a gel would act on a dog? How close to the eyes and nose is needed?

Fact: Pit Bulls kill more people annually than all other breeds combined, and it’s not even close.
Fact: Different breeds have different predispositions and tendencies, there is absolutely a lot more to it than solely how the dog is raised (though that is a variable)
Fact: Different breeds have different physical capabilities to carry out their tendencies
I state these as facts because I know it ruffles feathers, but, it is what it is…and it is reasonable to be particularly aware of and cautious of Pit Bulls in particular
