My bad, follow the links…
Ooopps wrong links…
This should be it!
Last time I visited the Arch was in 1978. Even then, I luckily side-stepped some trouble when we crossed the river to find a bar along the river’s edge, not aware of the district into which we had wandered. Anymore, when I travel I go armed everywhere, avoid states with no reciprocity agreements with mine or don’t stop within those states. Next week, I’m heading to AZ for a Celebration of Life for twin 40 yr. old grand-nephews who died over the course of the last year.
I won’t be stopping in New Mexico … not even for gas! I know that it’s okay as long as you buy gas along an Interstate highway … you can carry legally … but why give them the business?
@Glenn_A That is called East St. Louis. There were a couple of stores that I had to call on that were customers “over there”. I would talk to other reps that had to go as well… we went over four at a time in one car. The trunk locks on our vehicles had a steel plate cover bolted over the lock with a small key opening. Oh yeah, a special little city! It was once about 80,000 people and an industrial hub. Today it is 18,000 people and just a bunch of boarded up old houses and buildings. Quite active at night. The only thing ESTL was known for was strip clubs. Due to the blue laws in MO everyone went to ESTL for that kind of entertainment.
