The Federal "Super Carry"

Now that the dust has settled, is there a final verdict on this cartridge? It was supposed to bridge the gap between the .380 and 9mm, while increasing magazine capacity between these two. S & W made the first pistol for it. ANYONE - have you shot it? Pros or cons? I remember when the .357 SIG and GAP.45 were intended as improved cartridges, too - try to find ammo for them, now.

The 30 Super is probably a dead end, how many manufacturers are going to look at this through the lens of .357SIG history and say 'yay, let’s retool for this one"? There’s just not enough of an argument for it to replace either .380 or 9mm, the former being a niche caliber for pocket pistols and the latter being the minimum caliber for duty guns. I can see some manufacturers making conversions to their micro 9mm lines for it, but that’s about it.

30 SC is a dead end.

Higher than 9mm cost per round and lack on firearm manufacturers interest (only Smith&Wesson and Nighthawk Custom) made this caliber good for enthusiasts, not for people carrying everyday.
