Teach your children yourself

They’re calling this a mistake. I call bullsh!t. We’re in a battle for our children’s futures.

Whomever put the stickers on can always move to a country where they do not have its protections.

For those who have worked and struggled to get things appreciate the things they have.

Those who have been given to at no price to them do not understand the idea of appreciating their own labor achievements and the value thereof.

District representative MJ Thim admitted it was “their” mistake. Not good enough! Name names.

This is exactly why when looking and seeing the curriculum of the public schools I pulled my son out and he went to Christian, America loving schools. I need not tell many of you that his education was light years ahead of public school “education” or should I say indoctrination. Yes, teaching your kids is essential and necessary, but getting them out of the public school environment and around kids getting the proper education will help. Peers do have influence and going to school where the peer pressure is more in line with standards of God and country definitely helps.

Hold up, please, this is some over exaggerated nonsense right here. The pamphlet was an advertisement for a college, yes the pamphlet included The Declaration of Independence, with the Constitution of the United States of America and the amendments to the Constitution but it also included the courses offered by the college. The sticker had nothing to do with The Declaration of Independence or the Constitution and everything to do with it being advertisement being sent home with students.

Perhaps we should ignore what we see with our eyes then, and just accept in good conscience that it was an honest mistake, as usual.

Thank you for pointing this out.

source: ASD says mistake led to non-endorsement labels placed on Constitution booklets - Anchorage Daily News.

Relevant portion: “The booklets are used as a fundraiser for Hillsdale College, a private conservative liberal arts school founded in Michigan in the mid-1800s. The booklets are donated to the district every year.”

I went to very conservative Christian schools K through grad school. I’m used to disclaimer stickers being put on everything. I probably bought a Bible somewhere along the line that had a disclaimer in front of it.

I agree with @Papa_Zed on this one.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, no problem there. The only thing I’m completely sure of is that it occurred in a public school system, was found by a parent, and the school system apologized.

And I agree with this point.

My kids have never spent a day in public school. We’ve put our money where our mouth is and put them in private Christian schools.

Agreed. It would be interesting to see if they have materials from groups like Planned Parenthood, The Trevor Project, the various teachers’ unions, and see if the same non-endorsement stamp appears on them.

No, public education is not referred to in the U.S. Constitution; the responsibility for it is reserved to the states under the Tenth Amendment. Every state’s constitution mandates a public education system, and the U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed that education is not a federal constitutional right.

I Googled your thought this was the answer I got. Having said that i personally believe any agency whether Federal, State, County, City, etc should always use the Constitution as a guiding document. States do have separate rights. We all live under the guidance of the Constitution.

Exactly! Maybe the timely way to handle this is to form a National Organization of parents who support a return to education excellence by doing away with government standards and control of its curriculum. The home schooling families I have known seem to produce brighter, more well-rounded and knowledgeable (almost precocious) children than those exposed to more socialization and the drug culture, discipline problems, a lack of respect for authority and the risk of sudden death. There are other venues for sports participation and much to be gained by rejecting the dumbing-down of our kids in an attempt to produce compliant little robots who think they’re God’s gift to mankind but don’t know s**t!
