It sounds as if you are one of my generation, Scott52, although I was apparently born about 5 years closer to WW ll than you. I thank you for your service to this country, and for the oath you took … but, when did yours expire?
I congratulate you on your contribution of living, patriotic flesh and blood to our society. Similar to you, I raised “two warrior princesses” of whom I am very proud, They have given me 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children … so far. It’s THEIR futures I am not giving up to the forces of evil. Our futures (yours and mine) are pretty much gone, but in the spirit of our founders who gave us our Constitution and expressed in the preamble to that document, words that WILLED the blessings of Liberty to us: “… and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
They gave us this most precious gift by not quitting after Bunker Hill, or at Valley Forge. This nation is blessed by God who gave us leaders like Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and Adams. We continued to win and preserve this nation twice against the British and once we secured our borders “from sea to shining sea”, we preserved the UNITED States through a bloody Civil War, two World Wars and several armed conflicts … NEVER with the goal of conquest but to spread Liberty and peace throughout the world.
But we took our eye off the ball domestically. We trusted too much in our government representatives, and forgetting the lessons of history that proved it is the tendency of ALL governments to become tyrannical, we allowed OUR government to whittle away at our freedoms … because we could “trust” a government “of the people, by the people and for the people.”
I sincerely believe that, except for the overwhelming victory and the election of Donald Trump, 2024 would have been the LAST free election in this country, Why? Because the Left had beaten us down so far with Political Correctness, changing the meanings of words, confirming justices to the SCOTUS who cannot define what a woman is, instituting the racist philosophy of DEI and introducing pornography in our schools, destroying our children’s values with Moral Relativism, Secular Humanism and “Values Clarification” and the cheapening of life through abortion … that NOW we have to look UP to see the bottom!
There is and old Lakota Sioux Indian saying: “When you finally discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount!” There is no where to go but UP, so why quit and accept our fate now? I personally have decided to run for my local school board. That is the bottom of of the barrel politically, but one of the most important positions of influence we can hold … if we truly care about our grand children’s and great-grand children’s futures.

It truly is a mental illness. My best friend’s 32 year old daughter was indoctrinated in college and has gone far into the realm of the radical left and is so completely consumed with TDS that you can’t have a rational conversation with her. It’s really sad.

This is a very good point. As soon as I hear “common sense gun laws” my “uh-oh, watch out” radar goes full red alert and I know the next thing I hear is not going to be good. The left may not be good at policy, but they’re good at manipulating people through language.
