Finally I realized, this IS TDS. First thing out of bed, phone in hand, “Did you see Billy Joel is suing Trump…”. Last thing on they way to bed, “Can’t wait to see Trumps overnight diatribes of social media in the morning…”
I turned to him and finally said “You Have Got To Get Over This Obsession With Trump, it consumes you, it’s all you talk about think about care about…”
He tried the " But your a MAGA drone…" line.
I stopped him, “This has nothing to do Political Ideology, this has to do with your mental and physical health…”.
Thankfully he seemed to have gotten it.
Hope he over comes it. I can understand not liking a president but letting it overcome you…
Unfortunately, its very common. My brother was that way during Trumps first 4. During bidens reign, he overcame his TDS and when i would mention the difference between the 2, he said that he has nothing. Before he died, he admitted trump was a good thing.
My daughter used to have a mild case of TDS and is too proud to admit she’s wrong but I think she gets it now.
All she needs is turn on the news.
I think it also helps that her boyfriend’s dad, 100% Hispanic, is a working class MAGA.
I talked to my son the other day too. I had to explain to him about critical thinking. Just because someone says WW3 has started does not really mean WW3 has started. Though it may be starting it might not. People can talk themselves into it if they think and just give up on hope but if a person is consumed about it, it can come to pass.
Giving time to your dislikes is giving it too much time and effort. I have a life I have to worry about and I need to focus on me first before I give any time to anything else.
Even my daughter has mentioned some things I had to explain critical thinking about. It is like changing a diaper, wipe away the crap to find the baby then you can see the asshole.
Personally, I do not like politicians, used car salesman, and lawyers. They all are shady!

Biden and Democrats: they want to decide what car you drive, what stove and water heater and heating/cooling systems you own. Whether or not you can own a gun, and whether or not there will be police to come to your aid. They’ll put you in jail for having a questionable gun part, and release a gang banger the 15th time he used a stolen gun in a crime. They fired military, doctors, and public servants who refused the shot. They closed schools and denied individual choice. They give free room and board to illegals, and tax you to death till you no longer can afford the lifestyle you worked so hard to earn, and claim you’re privileged and owe it to them. They decide who and what groups benefit and who don’t. They want to run it all, they know best.
Trump: You can drive what you want, own the appliances you want, can own a gun to protect yourself, and police to enforce laws. He wants lower taxes, promote business, and reduce regulations. He won’t stand for antisemitism and won’t protect the lawless.
I see no King here. TDS is a last ditch panic move on the part of the deep state to stay in power. It’s relatively new. When Trump was leaning Democrat everyone that hates him now loved him. But government under the democrats is based on socialist leaning principles. Trump is a businessman. If you’re in business, whether it’s a lemonade stand when you’re a kid, or developing real estate, your goal is to make money. That’s a dirty word to liberals. Remember Margaret Thatcher who said socialism only works until you run out of other people’s money. When that happens you bring down the curtain, it’s over.
I have done a little bit of research on my own, though short term(5 months). I searched all the headlines and news stories from mainstream news outlets (ABC, CBS, NBC) and there was only 1 out of all the stories that was either about DJT or he was part of the story, that had a somewhat positive thing to say about Trump (ending anti-Semitic actions on campuses). Really??
