Legal or not, they are not very good choices for a responsible concealed carrier. They are only really good for spraying bullets in a barely controlled fashion. We are responsible for every round that we fire. Can we really live up to that duty while firing full-auto from a pistol?

Anyone with real full-auto firing experience knows that there are only certian circumstances that require fully automatic fire. As concealed carriers, we are not likely to need it.

I am as much of a 2A supporter as any of us here. Having said this, we should be careful of what we openly support on a public forum. We have new shooters here and maybe people who would use our words against us. You can be a member of the Community without being a USCCA member.

Legal or not, ethical or not, I would not be caught dead with a full auto switch or anything like it. Don’t need it, don’t want it, don’t like it. This is coming from a retired Soldier and rabid 2A guy.

Fully agree, it might be fun to use on the range, but I cannot see where it is of any use nor benefit in a self-defense situation, especially on a handgun. The rate of fire one can achieve with a semi-auto can make a standard mag empty in just a couple of seconds. While that would be controlled fire and shots would be on target, with an auto, the spread would be very bad, and shots off-target in a self-defense incident are not only useless, but a serious criminal and civil liability.

Brother, You will NEVER get ‘flamed’ or ‘Insulted’ by us for speaking your piece. You are a voice of reason in a World of insanity. I respect the hell out of you and most of you Gun-heads who post here. We need to stick on this issue (and many others). NO FULL AUTO BS here.
Even in Combat I reasoned/suggested that my guy’s do the (3) round bursts, and THAT’s in combat. Not self defense on our streets. These fools don’t care about any laws/rules and especially what is right and wrong. they blast away because they are so friggin’ cool. They don’t care about Innocents, property or where the rounds are going down range. You want the ‘Experience’ of firing a Machine Gun or full-auto anything go to your local Range, pony up the bucks for the rental/ammo and pick a lane. It’s fun, legal and you hand the dude/dudette back the hardware when you are done. easy Peazy, you DON’T want to get caught w/ one of these POS in your firearm. You are a regular John Q Public and you may GO AWAY!
The Crim’s don’t care, YOU have a Family/Job and responsibilities—Don’t blow it having this accessory.

Here’s yet ANOTHER gimmick to compromise, ignore, and negate what SHOULD be basic gun-handling skills - now CRIMINALS can own the equivalent of a hand-held MACHINE-GUN when they take down scores! What mental-midget dreamt THIS up??? Looks like we’re truly on the way toward the “wonder gun”! I look at this with total DISDAIN, adding it to the list of unnecessary, ridiculous, and cutesy-fartsy “improvements” to gun designs we’ve had to put up with. The gun-control crowd will collectively piss their pants - in UNISON - when they go after this! What’s NEXT - a semi-automatic REVOLVER, that ejects EMPTIES??? I actually saw an illustration of this on a paperback western novel, years ago.

Well, when I saw the title of this thread was “switches,” I thought it had something to do with what my mother used on me as a child.

If we had more of those kind of switches, we wouldn’t have to regulate these kind of switches. But I digress.
