I think the key take away is no law is going to stop a criminal from turning a Glock into a machine gun. Why should the law stop law abiding responsibly armed people. We have laws to protect people not keep people from protecting themselves.

Why can’t Glock just redesign their hangun so a switch doesn’t work? Problem solved.
A lot of things could be changed to make them safer…Then they lose their appeal to a lot of potential buyers… The goal is to sell weapons. Not make safe weapons. Weapons are supposed to be inherently dangerous. Also if glock made them harder to convert. People would just move on to the next model and so on… What the best change they could make to a weapon is the attitude of the person using it…
I don’t personally know anything about converting handguns to full auto. I’m not doing that. It’s illegal, and unnecessary.
Regardless, what difference does it make what it takes to make any gun illegal? Anyone can take a rifle or shotgun and shorten the barrel and it’s illegal. All it takes is a hacksaw. You can drink a bunch of beer and illegally drive your car. You can dump your trash on the side of the road, even though it’s illegal. Anyone can do about a million different illegal things, with common everyday objects, but no one talks of banning those objects.
You didn’t answer my question, but just asked a different question that implies support for this law.

There is no problem in the first place. The challenge is staying ahead of the technology of the criminals.
The problem that needs to be solved is the anti-2A activists that are registered as Democrats (there are pro-2A Democrats throughout the Country against gun control not just Republicans) is what needs to be solved and that goes for all anti-2A activists across the Country who are the cause. They’ve organized into groups like Everytown, Moms demand action, Students demand action, and other gun control groups, including anti-2A leaderships in state government that back them, especially those who have inserted themselves into Blue states pushing these agendas with no respect to the American US Constitution (even raising their right hands lying while taking the Oath), State Constitutions, nor Supreme Court rulings.
It’s been said here before, but it bears repeating. Anti 2A activists use fear to get attention. It feels like they want to legislate based off of what they fear they would do if they were in that situation. Or feed off of their worst motivations and legislate in a horrible game of what if.
But that’s the problem right there. Their are a lot of scared and lazy people who want the .gov to nanny state them.
The problem is that there are a lot of places to move to if you want a Nanny State to take care of you from cradle to grave. But if you want freedom and liberty the USA is it. There’s no where else. This is it. If we go down as a Country that’s it that’s the fat lady getting ready to sing.
