I saw a YouTube video from Rights & Firearms about a new US Supreme Court decision that came out recently and seems too good to be true. Supposedly, US vs. Henderson, came out around April 24th, 2026, was a 9-0 decision and the opinion was written by Roberts. It demanded strict scrutiny (based on historical standards, ie, 1791) over states’ attempts to limit, restrict or control individual’s rights to own and carry guns. No permit is required to buy a gun. The only waiting period to carry a gun is the background check, which is only a couple of days. No other delays allowed for a law-abiding citizen to carry. There is a right for law-abiding citizens to carry in public. No mandatory training. No need to show good cause. No assault weapon ban. No limit on magazine size.
A second decision was supposedly an Emergency Stay on May 3, 2026, 6-3, with the opinion written by Thomas. This YouTube video was posted by Law Alert Daily. This struck down permits required by states and counties. It created nationwide constitutional carry. The following items were stayed: Fingerprinting requirements and live fire training. It created national reciprocity. Gun rights based on historical standards tradition (in 1791). Must honor No Guns signs in private businesses. Safe areas are post offices, government buildings, and airport security areas. No open carry.
Has anyone heard anything about these court decisions? I haven’t seen anything about these on major news media, NRA or USCCA and these would be major decisions if true. I’m leaning towards believing these are phony.
