Strike removed?

BAck to read this month’s episode. Real life story on page 51 says the DA removed a strike from a criminal prior to trial. Otherwise the thug would have spent 3 years in prison. I know it’s Cali but why would any DA or how can a DA remove a strike a felon has earned? Does the law allow that to happen?

Words don’t matter to these power drunk DA’s. During the election cycle our DA said he would not plea down any charge that included an illegal firearm, but once in office he said “Well, we do need to take these on a case by case basis.”.
