Smiddy and iamteeg want to know! POLL: How about a Rifles forum?

Dear USCCA:

I of course realize the organizational purpose here is for CC, which equals handguns.
However, what’s the odds of a board for rifles? Maybe a board for AR’s, 1 for traditional?

I had to ask cause I’d bet my fav 1911 theres plenty of folks here who would use a rifles forum just like I would…

Thanks for your consideration

And a 1911 board, also

Perhaps you mean bored? :stuck_out_tongue:

I can create subtopics under Guns&Gear, @Smiddy and @iamteeg. If the numbers are there, I will do it.

Sooooo… to that end:

Would you actively participate in a Long Gun category? (post once a week or more)

  • Yes, I will post 1x a week OR MORE, we need a long gun category
  • Nah, we don’t need a dedicated long gun category

Hope you don’t mind that I totally hijacked your thread and changed the title, @Smiddy! :innocent:

Carbine category? (only slightly tongue in cheek)

I could get behind a long gun category “All things 16” and longer" as for a 1911 category I’d get behind that too but then you would need a Sig category and a Glock basement and , and, and …

Yes I would on both. 1911’s because they are awesome. Long guns, because they are defensive tools as well.

It’s hard enough to find topics. I would chat about rifles. But I think Miscellaneous covers alot.

I’m totally starting a discussion about smoothbore muzzleloaders.

I was actually pondering whether the categories should be Long Guns, 1911/Sig/Kimber, Glock/S&W-M&P/DAO, Revolvers …

I never search by category, usually new or latest so it wouldn’t matter to me.
But I fully expect the long gun topic names would catch my interest and I would be taking part.

And how about a blue (not blued) and grey guns section.

Okay…now we’re just getting silly.

Ha ha, I’m genuinely surprised I haven’t seen an argument over which color pistol is best for concealed carry.

Maybe I just haven’t been here long enough.

I’d go to the local make up counter @ Macy’s and ask to match the skin tone of your waist. LOL, go to Sherwin Williams and DIY a “custom cerakote finish…” LOL :joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:

I’ve been out with friends shooting smoothbore and rifled muzzle loaders. There’s something very special about that kind of shooting. Everything from sharpening your flints, measuring your powder, packing your bullet… definitely not a rapid fire sport, but as a shooter you’re very involved in every aspect of hitting your target. Everyone ought to try it at least once. I just wish the good reproductions weren’t so expensive.

@Ouade5 I agree before my best bud shipped out to the left coast we spent one of our more memorable days (and there have been more than a few of those) we spent an entire day shooting black powder, just shooting the breeze, reminiscing and enjoying the company while banging steel with big hunks of flying lead. Something very personal and yet can be very social at the same time. I am told bird hunting is similar.

@Dawn No ma’am, I actually thank you, oh great one

As for participating as thing, I checked the once per week on both. What I meant was, I’ll never shut up about either. We can go from Mauser action bolts to latest AR’S, and RIA’s to top notch Colts, Wilson-Combat, watever !

I don’t know much about black powder guns, but there was something special about sitting in a Jon boat with my dad feezing cold in the rain calling in ducks. It’s unfortunate that not everyone gets the chance to experience something like that. A couple of my friends don’t have much experience with firearms and never had anyone to teach them about them…I try to include them as much as I can when I take trips to the range. I believe that a lot of fear when it comes to firearms is lack of knowledge, and if I can combat this, maybe my town will one day be a better place.
