Second Amendment Supportive Brands (carry-friendly)
The Jack in the box in Arizona are not GUN FREE. I go into all of the time with my gun on OC. And have not ever been asked to leave. And it just may be a state or city thing. but no problems for me in Arizona so far.
@Dawn Are stores that only allow conceal carry considered “Not supportive”?
Because there are several on that list that allow conceal carry… with a permit. At least here in Texas. I wouldn’t step into a 7-11 without my tool.
Actually I thought pretty much all Walmart were allowing conceal carry and not open carry. At least that was the last I’ve heard about it. In Missouri that’s what they have said here.
In Ohio I haven’t come across any “no firearms permitted” signs at Walmart. As a matter of fact, I’ve bent down or leaned over to get something from a bottom shelf and my shirt has hiked up and my pistol was briefly visible and, on more than one occasion, and there stands an employee. I simply explain in a calm manner that I have a permit and that I’m also a retired police officer and really don’t need a permit anyway and ask them if they would like me to show them my permit and retired officer’s card, and have never once been challenged. As a matter of fact, on two occasions, I’ve had the employee thank me for my service. I imagine every state is different as well as every Walmart within said states.
If I remember correctly, Walmart banned open carry, but wouldn’t say that you can’t CC. However, if it bothered customers or staff that they could ask you to leave. That said, I haven’t seen any 30.06 or 30.07 signs at the main entrances of my local Walmarts.
@Levi2 I agree 100%. According to Texas law no posted signs at a business means open carry is allowed (legally). And zero Walmarts I have visited have any signs regarding firearms. However they will call the police, from stories I have seen. That is not ethical. I don’t want to test them but Walmart is not following state laws. If they only want conceal carry they should post the 30.07 signs at the entrance… but they have no firearms signs.
I asked the local Walmart manager about this issue. The manager told me that if I watched the news that I would know open carry is not allowed. I told him I don’t get my rights from watching the news, I get my rights from state and federal guidelines. He just gave me “that look” and referred me to corporate… and of course I haven’t heard a peep from them.
I haven’t heard from corporate either, and while the police can’t really do much unless you refuse to leave, I don’t think I’d risk it. I’ve talked to multiple officers on this subject, and that is what they advised.
Well here in SC I have my CWP and there are no signs on the entrace about guns so I’ve always carried my weapon into WalFart, of course concealed. Dont the no guns sign on the entrance MUST beLegally & Lawfuly 8×11, @Dawn ?
