Depending on which parent was called, would determine how many showed up at the school with weapons to take care of any threat. There are some Momma Bears in that area I would not want to mess with as well as most of the farmers and ranchers.

My beloved homeschooled our two. Every once in a while we would have a “Bring your guns to class” day. The teacher (My grrrl), both kids, and the Superintendent (me).

Some of the liberals I worked with liked to have had their heads explode when I told them about “Bring your guns to class day” at my kids’ school.

Don’t like the school policy? Yank the kids out and school them yourself!

What’s with the website changing my text ; - ) , to  ?

Don.B when I was younger the high schools. Would . Not make a. Big deal about the kids having their rifles in the back window of their pickup trucks. And they even left the windows down!! Now Days PERENTS for the most DONT TRAIN THEIR CHILDREN . And most young people don’t have DADDYS. And . My opinion GOD IS MISSING FROM THE LIVES OF THE CHILDREN. Three things to say about this. 1. It’s wrong. 2. It’s wrong. 3. It’s WRONG. Secrecy is the first step down the rabbit hole. Next is “don’t tell anyone where I touched you” followed by " don’t tell anyone I gave you these pills."

If there is an imminent thread I don’t see how anyone could stop the children from calling their parents. The main concern is to stop the threat and stay out of harms way.
If there isn’t an imminent threat the child should wait until the class is over.

I would think that the school would have a duty to inform all parent immediately.

But, I am thinking also about crowd, and traffic control in the situation when other first responders (all types) are also just responding to that situation, adding another layer of hazard, and chaos including more targets for the shooter before they are neutralized.

It’s a tough call balancing that.

It is a tough call , but it’s hard to control the situation if all of a sudden you have hundreds showing up wanting to get their kids . Great cover for the shooter hard situation for first responders. If the threat is creditable lock school down get buses to school load buses get kids home call parents inform them then. I have more to this plan but this is the basics.

During an active shooter scenario law enforcement does not want anything to complicate the situation that they are trying to simplify, like by ending the shooter before he ends anybody, or anybody else.

After that is accomplished, as our British cousins would say, you can “sort this mess out.”

Get the students reunited with their parents, etc.

But, their immediate safety is the first priority.

Ending the threat first.

I definitely don’t have the answers. I know that day that the . Man making the threats was ordered ING A. . AR.15. And . Had just bonded out. That’s. Scary . And., I just don’t know how PERENTS Deal. With . Having to deal with . . Their children . Being. Terrified. . I don’t understand why they let the guy bond out to straight away . Try it again??? Love Bobby jean and Debbie ann . I thank GOD I DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN. This is terrible. Children should not have to worry about being slaughtered .when they go to school . :latin_cross::chile::us::100::bangbang:

Our whole judicial system was assaulted, usurped, and prevented from what it was:

When violent criminals were held until their trial was concluded, only let out if they were not convicted. If they were convicted might get their sentence reduced by the time that they had served if not a life sentence. But, otherwise not ever let go once arrested.

Cashless, or Bail Reform has made a mockery of our judicial system.

My answer to the question

Is YES, Absolutely. We saw what happened in Uvalde, We know that law enforcement, on some occasions will not be the protectors/rescuers that we’d like them to be, so having parents show up my help motivate them to act. That said, from what I’ve seen, after Uvalde the police are much better at entering and engaging.

Mike 164 Brother I think that was a border patrol agent. That was getting a haircut on his day off. And he . Went past a hundred police officers and took out the shooter. KAZ his wife called him from inside the classroom?? And he took a couple of rounds. Killing the shooter. He was the hero . And. That was an is messed up. Because every shot was a child being killed. And . They. We’re . Staying in the hall way. ?? That was sad . With how our country has blamed guns. And let criminals go. This is starting to become. Only criminals can have rights to their attorneys and to carry their EDC’s and . Bond. O yeah let’s let them make bond KAZ they are not done. Trying to kill the little children. Here’s ya a root beer. we have some law enforcement that should work . At. McDonald’s. Seriously. And we have some great law enforcement officers . No telling who is going to be on seen.?? :latin_cross::us::chile::100::beer:

Yes, it was a member of the Board Patrol’s Tactical Response Team (not sure of the exact title), but while everyone else was standing around with their thumbs up their asses, CBP took care of business, and ended the threat.

@DonB, we homeschooled both of our kids. Yeah, we likely could have had fancier vacations and homes, but the investment in our kids was worth every penny we gave up in the process. There is no way in he11 that I would have a child in a public or most of the private school. FYI, both went on to college. Today one is an MD, the other has his own businesses and is a LT in the NG. Proud of them both. And I never forget, proud of my wife. The day in and day out work was heavy, but she made it fun.

You make a good point. And the cops won’t know who is good guy and bad guy. But, if anything like the deal in Uvalde, the cops were useless anyway. Teachers being trained and armed is one step towards sanity.
