Um… does that mean I get a senior citizen discount because I carry a 1911?
IMO, regardless of what a persecutor says, “equalizer” and “R.I.P” only words. If intent is pulled from the name alone, an “Equalizer” pistol gives you the same type of tool as a criminal would use… you’re on an equal playing field. Whereas “R.I.P” ammo, regardless of what it actually stands for, “Radically Invasive Projectile”, has a much wider known alternative. However, a word is just a word, and as others have said, any lawyer worth his weight in dog ■■■■ should be able to quell an argument otherwise.
Thanks!
I second SG Ammo. They are terrific. Lucky Gunner has some too. Another vendor I like a lot.
Not something I’d worry about, Equalizer is pretty fair term, and it’s the manufacturer giving it the same, and there is nothing about it substantially different from other firearms I’d be worried about in court. If that’s a keystone of the prosecution I think they already lost.
I am not a lawyer and that is certainly not legal advice.
If you have to use a firearm, the name of gun will be the least of your worries.
S&W Baldwin
I think it’s more interesting, that S&W transitioned away from calling it M&P. For those that don’t know, that’s Military and Police. Maybe, it’s a good way to take the heat off of law abiding citizens, since law makers keep using the “weapons of war” moniker.
I’m glad S&W took off the M&P name from this pistol.
It’s close to Shield line, which shouldn’t have anything to M&P from very beginning.
Shield line and Equalizer are typical civilian handguns and should be associated with civilians only.
You have a point. But also, that brings up, that I don’t like the double stack M&P pistols being not-associated with civilians. Because I’m preaching to the choir you already know what I’m going to say for reasons lol
And of course, I have to say it because I’m that guy…domestic law enforcement officers are civilians too
Does that make espresso and distill whiskey?
Made by Mr. Coffee… That gives me the jitters…
I must be doomed, my newer 1911 Girsan 10mm Hunter.
10mm and called a Hunter…
A name is just a name, its how you use it…
I would buy a Springfield Daisy Pusher, sounds like it shoots flowers!
Name doesn’t bother me. In fact, looking to pick one up in the near future.
Does it smoke crack and frequent prostitues?
Or does it become a board member of a foreign oil firm knowing absolutely nothing about the industry, and having no experience?
A DA can make anything offensive given a long enough time. You can have a AR covered in fluffy bunnies and he would say you want to kill furries. That being said, the rule about putting stuff like " Kill them all, let God sort them out" on your self defense weapon isnt exactly a good idea. As for me, I refrain from putting overt macho stuff on any weapon. I am sure my defense attorney will thank me later if( God forgive) That weapon is used in a self defense shooting.
The argument could also be made that the Equalizer was made to give people with disabilities an equal opportunity to enjoy the shooting sport and to defend themselves.
How do you feel about “Allahu Akbar”?
