Hopefully going out tomorrow. Shot timer is here and a G35.3 ![]()
I need to get a shot timer.
Not sure how well it would’ve worked today, 8-9 out of 10 lanes were in use the whole time I was there. (Indoor range)
On mine I know I can turn the sensitivity up or down depending if I’m inside or outside but I only plan on using it outside where I can breathe freedom of drawing from the holster.
On the plus side, I got to shoot a suppressed KelTec 9mm carbine while I was waiting for my EDC to cool down enough to reholster it! ![]()

Ol’boy said his stamp for the suppressor went through in just 42 hours!!! ![]()

I use a pact timer but there are a bunch of different brands out there. The downfall to most with multiple shooters is proximity to the other shooters and as @Karacal stated, you can turn the sensitivity down to try to split the difference but probably not going to work but so well at an indoor range with multiple other shooters in c lose proximity to you. when i turn mine down that low it starts randomly missing my shots as well
Happy Anniversary @RangeMatt
In real life your target would be moving - maybe into the path of an oncoming wide shot! Nice shooting with a 365.
appreciate it. Hard to believe it has already been a year lol
That’s what I have, nice little case to keep it safe too. ![]()
The range was clear, no cows to be seen and it wasn’t raining. Starting to bring them in on center. Wide shots were from moving left/right, no shots off target . @Jerzees I noticed I was doing as you were talking about without realizing I was doing it. Squeeze the trigger until I met the wall, then pulled on thru it. Did some draw, point, shoot and a Cpl of ten rounds as fast and as accurate as I could, notice the one large hole.
.
PS: I was also being deliberate in shooting, take the extra 0.01 to get a good hit.
I carry 6-7 days a week and am embarrassed to tell this community when I went to the range last. Finally got there today and took the kiddos with me.
1st two targets were shot completely cold with Federal HST carry ammo out of Shield 9mm. Meant to mimic the 10-10-10 drill, but not timed and an 8 round magazine. I am irritated with the two flyers, but I didn’t hit any innocent bystanders and I consider this to be combat accurate since I am shooting at 8.5 x 11 pieces of paper. Of course, it was also not shot under stress.
Shot a few magazines from a little farther range. This is Glock 19 with carry ammo (same as above) from about 25 feet. not timed, but not slow fire either.
Shot some rhythm circles to focus on the fundamentals of grip, sight alignment, and trigger press. I’m pleased with these results. Shot from abut 10 feet. Not rushed, but not super slow either. (No. I don’t have a shot timer and forgot to use the app on my phone that I downloaded a long time ago to try out.)
I needed to get some left handed work in. This is the shield from about 10 feet with FMJ ammo left handed. This is two magazines. The first was a two handed grip. The second mag (same target) was a single handed grip. Not shot at speed, but wasn’t shooting slow enough so as to try to get a one hole group. I think I need to get a left handed holster and start carrying left handed.
This was also shot left handed but with the Glock 19. I was trying to mimic the 10-10-10 drill, but shot this from 4 paces so closer to 12 feet. My kids videoed me shooting this. This is a 15 round magazine left handed, two-hand grip shot in 10-11 seconds with the gun starting with sights on target.
I shot the same drill right handed and emptied a 15 round mag into the circle from the same distance, but did it in about 6-7 seconds per the video my kids took. I forgot to take a pic of that target, but it looked similar to the left handed target.
I do believe my trigger press is better on my left hand, but shooting right handed still feels more intuitive. Supporting with my right hand feels weirder than shooting with my left hand.
For kicks, here is my son’s target from his 10/22 shot somewhere around 10 feet, standing, unsupported, taking his time, but not crawling. I think this is a full 25 round mag.
I won’t post any of his pistol targets, but he shoots the shield well and from the training classes I have taken, he could jump right in and hang with the group in any of the classes I have taken. Of course, he’s got a few years before he will be old enough to take a pistol class. My daughter needs more time on the range with dad, but she had a good time, I think.
It was a fun couple of hours with the kids and it was the most fun I’ve had shooting in a long time. Frankly, after taking several training classes focusing on active shooter, range trips haven’t been fun. They’ve felt more like work. Maybe taking the kids is the secret to a fun range trip.
Glad you enjoyed the time with the kids
the holes in the targets look good too.
It’s hard to visualize now, but one day they will be quicker, faster, stronger, and a better shot than you
… ask me how I know
My son wanted to arm wrestle the other day. He’s already bigger than me and he’s already stronger than I am, but don’t tell him I admitted it!
I don’t know how many of you remember @TexasEskimo. He did the Texas State Championship in IDPA in the Enhanced Service Pistol division this weekend and came in Second.
13 stages 278 rounds of ammo fire.
That is how you post your targets! What did you see? How can you fix it? The fact you learned from the range time is important every time you go. I just hope other will see this and learn from it.
Thanks for sharing!
7 yards at the range today. Actually went to zero an optic on my G3c. Letty, my wife took her twp 380s & her Glock26. It was 11:30 in San Antonio so ot was 101 degrees. Too flipping hot
No target for the Brawler? ![]()
Mine is still NIB, have a box of 45LC and a couple of .410, just haven’t had the energy to go out with it.
Ya, I went to the tactical range after sighting in a few pistols & shot 10 45lc & 5 410 slugs at metal. It’s very accurate & the recoil is very light. I like it a lot. I haven’t seen any rattlesnakes or varmints that need dispatching bu it is a very nice little 410
