Proposed Taxes on Guns and High Capacity Magazines

@Robert10, great point! I never considered that, but it’s a perfect example of the Supreme Court punting their duties. To assume that even a conservative-leaning SC will adhere to the Constitution is simply a fool’s errand.

@Melvin, agree 100%. But do you really expect our Supreme Court to step up to the plate and rule correctly? I don’t. They’ll turn a blind eye to established legal precedent by refusing to even hear the case. Paint me skeptical, but I’ve seen this movie too many times.

SCOTUS has so many 2A cases yet unopened if they are aware of “another one?” Thats all it’ll be is another one.
If anyone in the firearms industry is part of USCCA start coordinating a plan to remove, cancel, suspend, and decline all government contracts with anything firearm related until a “ Hands Off” policy is mandated.
It will the firearms industry that has the power to dictate how the laws rule, the industry will be the rule of law!
Further the firearms industry can flood the streets so it will be impossible to seize everything.
The Poly 80, now SBR’s, the AR-15, Ak’s, it’ll just keep going until the industry itself shuts down the governments anti 2A agendas. They can’t force you to produce anything if you the industry says no!
If Biden signs an order banning overseas import manufacturers and buys from one of them then he committed treason against his own executive order!
Save your ammo & don’t go to ranges anymore.

They know we won’t comply, but they will use it to stop the majority of new sales. They will play the long game to get the rest.

Nothing in this entire bill will prevent gun violence or enhance community safety. I see a black market in ammunition sprouting like poisonous mushrooms in this fetid pile.

I knew it… These jokers are gonna try to do whatever to circumvent the 2ND AMENDMENT. Taxes for gun ownership, ammo, “high capacity” magazines… Backdoor confiscation by enlarging the scope of the NFA. Maybe this will wake up all Pro 2A folk, be they Conservative, Liberal, or Libertarian. :100:

:point_right:t5:I do hope this comes to nought. But, they will never stop so neither will we. The only victory they get is the pyrrhic kind.

:v:t5:

I’m not sure which item irritates me more. How do firearms manufacturers get held accountable if somebody decides to murder with a legally made firearm? That’s like holding GM accountable if a driver speeds excessively and kills somebody or holding Brown Forman accountable for a drunk driver.

First this has to make it through congress and then has to be signed into law by the president. But it is very troubling to see this kind of bill even proposed. It’s going to require me to obtain a license (registry) to exercise a right given to me by my creator? The right to keep and bear arms is not right given to me by the government, it’s mine as soon as I’m born. Like all my rights are. Is amazing how few of them up in dc don’t understand the meaning of “shall not infringe “. So I guess if this does make it into law I will most likely end up a criminal because I’m not going to comply with an unconstitutional law. And I would pay my own hard earned money to any group that takes this type of law to the Supreme Court. And that’s when “We The People” will see where our Constitution stands in today’s United States of America. Stay safe all. And stand strong for our Constitution.

The government is supposed to be “by and for the people” not against the people.

These days it’s only for 50% of the people, the 50% that agree with them.

The entire registration tithing is just a way for govt to collect money. Gun owners are already in a list the day of purchase. The sale and transfer of firearms is logged into state police data bank.
Why the need to be in a “registration” if were already on a list? State police know who has what.
