Preserving American Freedom in the Face of the Coronavirus | USCCA

COVID-19 — the coronavirus — is attacking more than just the health and security of the nation. There are efforts underway by some in the political arena to use the pandemic to further erode gun rights. As uncertainty grows, people must be paying attention to the actions of some politicians in order to preserve their Second Amendment rights now and in the future.

It’s extremely troubling to me, and I am sure many other gun owners and carriers, that our government officials will use any and all types of situations to establish more gun control and confiscation laws. This country was and has been established and protected for hundreds of years with guns. Police use guns, hunters use guns, military uses guns, security officers use guns. The 2nd Amendment assures our rights as citizens to own and use guns. Our forefathers knew that a corrupted government would not be beneficial to it’s country’s citizens and made this amendment to our Constitution to protect and give us, It’s citizens, the power and means to make a change. Our current government body knows this and thus the motivation to take that right away. I’m so thankful the USCCA stands on the front lines to help curb the onslaught of lawmakers who would abolish that right. I stand also as a patriot to that cause.

It’s up to every Constitutionalist American at any and all costs, especially at this moment in history, to deny these attacks. Look on the bright side, you don’t have to worry about losing your job, ability to buy your 3 lattes a day, your vehicles, homes, etc. any longer. Hell, we are begging for butt wipe! This is an easy decision. It has been made for us.

I’m not even going to get into showing up at the State Capital during gun grabbing legislation sessions…our ability to do that has been eliminated.

I hope that H.R.5717 - Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2020 will be discussed tonight. This bill was introduced to the US House of Representatives on 01/30/2020 and referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security on 03/10/2020. This bill, in my understanding of it, is an attempt to gut the Second Amendment.

I bought a new gun before the Covid -19 broke. It was delivered to my FFL after the breakout . It is now in limbo since 3/24 /20. As of this afternoon it is still stuck in delayed because so part of the Government either State or Federal put a delay in the process. Others in shrouding counties are getting theirs processed in 10-15 minutes and walk out the door with their new gun.

Cool, live streaming and comments come to this board…nice!

I have been hearing that this has been happening in certain areas. NICS is still working and verifying those that need the check. Did the FFL say why it is still in limbo?

NICS is really swamped right now. It’s take a bit longer than normal. @Bill33’s case may be different though?

I knew NICS is swamped, especially during these hard times of the pandemic.

Was looking to find ammo online and seen many had tripled the price on ammo. They were the only ones who had handgun ammo. Glad I bought a large box before this happened. Am picking up another 100 rounds tomorrow. I practice about every day weather permitting.

Great Live stream. You (USCCA) should advise that FFL’s should be encouraged to discount firearms sales if the buyer has a (card carrying) membership in a firearm’s organization, USCCA, NRA, JPOFO, etc… The FFL’s should be insisting new firearms buyers purchase memberships in an organization and the FFL’s should be selling these. The membership prices should be coming off the new firearms membership as a purchasing incentive.

Hi Tim & Joe, Here in NC ammo seems to be getting harder to find as well as online. Is there a reason why ammo availability is reducing.

Welcome, @Judson2!

The demand is really high right now and people are stockpiling. But the manufacturers are working on replenishing!

Just joined plus one. Great idea
