Personal Freedoms in Face of Coronavirus: Guest Colion Noir | USCCA

As the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 — the coronavirus — drags on, Americans are seeing products disappear from store shelves, businesses close and government agencies define who and what is “essential.” As uncertainty grows, people are thinking about what they can do to protect themselves and their freedoms now and in the future.

I have watched several of his videos on youtube. Just as I was finishing one of them we got a “notice” on our local news channel that the police are NOT responding to a whole list of things. Clearly this stresses what we all knew this whole time ---- we are on our own for self protection!

I agree 100% ! But then have the “BALLS” sorry… to just outright announce it all over the place? Give me a break! First its let prisoners out (regardless if they are “non-violent”…Then to announce we are not responding to A…B…C… type of calls… And then the worst in a state tell people they cant conceal carry at the moment only police and military! I am very passionate about this subject… But what can one man do nothing! But what we can do as a conceal carry family alot! I just dont understand the logic in all this at all.

I hope and pray that God will bless each and every one of you as we go through this tough and hard time, I’m a local truck driver and I have told my family to be safe and always check twice before going outside for any reason, and always carry their firearms, God bless all of you and your family’s and stay safe out there!!

We need to look at the nationalization of a concealed weapons permit system to allow citizens to carry throughout the United States after receiving effective and safe firearms training. This can be centralized throughout the country utilizing existing DPS/DMV combined with Sheriff’s Department units. Even the local gun shops ownere could implement an effective training process! As firearms instructor, I advocate for the safe use of firearms. What are we waiting for?

Here in Wisconsin we have fair requirements to obtain an in State CCW and that is fine for folks who don’t travel. For a National CCW permit I suggest a second permit or a stamp requiring in-depth and extensive training that would cover and satisfy the laws and training requirements of any State. That should satisfy National Reciprocity instead of the hodge-podge we must contend with now.

Living in PA, we learned that the Philadelphia Police have the same or similar stand-down orders from their leftist Mayor. I’m just hoping that our anti-rights governor still thinks that Martial Law is a TV show. These attitudes and perspectives are bound to get worse. Keep safe folks.

We need to rely on the Law that already exists - The Second Amendment already covers who can purchase and carry a firearm. Nobody should need a License to carry, concealed or open.

In reference to tonights discussion, we now have a HUGE influx of people who now own and possess a firearm and have no idea how to use it. I am excited that they all are stepping into the world of protecting themselves and their loved ones, how as USCCA Instructors going to educate and train these folks using virtual means? All of us instructors are now done with training as we knew it until we pass through this pandemic. Is the USCCA doing anything to assist us reach out and conduct Virtual classes ? My state is suggesting that all new permit seekers get training- now we are restricted- they will connect to these companies who just get by with their online training options.

My father was from Cuba. Today we were discussing this same thing. He said to me that the first thing Castro did was confiscate everyone’s guns. We can never allow it!

Forgot to mention above that our wonderful Governor earlier had made an edict that all gun shops be closed down. Thankfully a district judge clued Wolf into the fact that he was going against not only the 2nd amendment rights of the country, but those evident in the PA constitution. Wolf has backed down his original stance and most of our gun shops in PA are staying open. There should hae been no question of this in the first place, but most politicians believe they are above the law!

On the USCCA website one can take the class. Also with this pandemic it does make it hard to do a class in person. I have figured out how to a class and yet keep it private but will need to clear it with the USCCA before I would even approach it. I do have 10 people who want the class and are interested in taking it this way because of this pandemic and restrictions that are in place for a group at one place. But great question. Thanks

We haven’t done virtual classes yet, @Steve87. I’ll definitely share it with our team here to see what we can do going forward.

Yep agreed. I have 10 people that want to take my class but now we are stuck. I am open to suggestions on how to make this happen and keep it private and not violate USCCA policy and rules for certified instructors
