I’m planning on going deer hunting during the Winter and would like to take my P365XL along for close-range defense in the event I need it.
Are there any hunting-style holsters that others recommend using (leg straps, chest straps, etc) for open-carry and easy access?
Blackhawk makes some decent OWB holsters with a paddle that are not expensive and have good retention. And also look into Safari Land holsters.
What kind of hunting? Sitting in a blind 20 yards from your pickup? Spot and stalk? Hiking through the mountains?
The type of hunting you’re doing, and thus the gear you’re carrying, can have a real effect on how you should carry your sidearm.
