It’s true. I typically train with my Ultra Raptor and Eclipse Ultra because that’s what I carry. At the beginning of a couple classes, I’ve had instructors make negative comments about them, until I start shooting. The expectation up front is that the student isn’t going to be able to manage it. I still remember one instructor who was test firing everyone’s handgun before we started and when he came to me, he said, “That’s a pretty small .45. Why do you hate me so much?” But they’re surprisingly accurate and easily concealable. And while I’ve only put 50rnds through a G27 that I rented once, IMHO, they’re easier to manage than that G27 was. Plus, the grip angle on that G27 was all wrong and there was no safety to rest my thumb on.
