@Karacal , do you have women’s hands?
It only made sense to buy it when women kept complimenting me on my hands.
And about 2X heavier.
That’s what Perry’s suspenders are for.
i own a Sig P 365X with ADE Apollo Red Dot & light, its my E.D.C. I can trust my life to this one. It has never jammed, misfire & its reliable. And it has real tight grouping. Its holds its zero.
I have a question. Doesn’t the Red Dot and Lazer accomplish the same thing?
Or is this for a redundancy?
Doesn’t look like holding zero at 15 yards…
Just kidding…
This has nothing to the hardware…
I am not sure how old your mother is but racking the slide can be an issue regardless of how good the pistol shoots. As you get older some slides feel too tight and hard to rack.
My wife uses an S&W Equalizer 9mm which has a lighter slide which makes her more confident. For around $500 is a good choice.
Nice shooting. 15 yards is a good practice distance (i.e. typical encounter distance). Try the Schroedinger’s Cat drill to cure than “down and to the left” trend. It is just my opinion, but practicing head shots is a waste of time and ammo. The torso can move quite a distance and still be within the kill zone. The head, not so much.
Larry130, Thanks for your kind words & I will give that cat drill a try. And I agree with you on the head shots and center mass is larger but if a head shot is all I have to stop that threat them I will take the shot. How was your Thanksgiving, & have you been out to hunt ?
I have had several red lazer & green lazer. And in day light they are hard to see. And they for the most part don’t hold a zero for very long. Your eyes will pick up on the dot real fast, place the dot on target and you will hit your target as long as they are zero. And they hold the zero. Red dots are so much faster & easier to use. Where with a laser. you have to see the beam and then place the beam on the target. all of that takes time. And if you can’t see the beam you may be in trouble. And the fact of not seeing is bad. But a red dot, eyes will pickup on it real quick. Just my opinion.
Thanksgiving was great. Yours? As for hunting, not since 2005 (pheasant in Scotland). Shooting now limited to defensive skills and action pistol style events. Will kickoff some long distance work in the spring.
I just wanted to hop on and let every one that helped in my Mom making her choice of EDC firearm. She made her choice Saturday and bought a Kimber Micro9. Thank you to everyone that gave advice and opinions.
Those always seemed like nice little pistols to me. I would be curious to hear how that first range trip goes. I’ve read Kimbers can be ammo picky.
We went out the day she got it and it shot great, I’m going to get one later on. As for the ammo and it being picky we used the same ammo that I use in my full size Kimber 1911, Blazer FMJ and Federal Hollow points and no problems (other than needing some fine tunning with the sights).
That’s awesome and great to hear! Those Kimber micro 9s have been around awhile and they always seem like they’d be fun to shoot.
It was fun shooting it. Now I just have to find her new grips as she dose not like the brown ones that much and wants purple ones.
She bought a handgun that nobody recommended and said single word about…
Anyway, great she found the one that works for her and makes her happy.
We went to look at the Ultra Carry II recommended by Todd30, and she liked it. She just did not think she would be able to stand shooting a .45 that small. The lady that was helping us recommended the Micro9 and she ended up liking it.
