We’ve talked about defending ourselves from bears (Bear hand guns) and while hunting (Two guns while hunting?), but what about during other outdoor adventures?
Here are some tips to self-defense in the great outdoors:
On public trails, it’s my usual carry gun, M&P 45c. But, I stoke it with a q0 round mag of good old 230 grain ball ammo. The biggest 4 legged attacker I might encounter, is a small black bear, or small mountain lion. On private property, it’s my 6 inch Ruger GP100, with 180 grain Underwood Hardcast .357 mag, and maybe a Mossberg 535 with slugs in it.
