Optic Selection 19X

Exactly :joy:. Open emitter closed emitter, red dots green dot different powers,

doesn’t matter but also matters and the price differences are hundreds of dollars :joy:.

I ordered an EPS today. When it gets in, I’ll be taking my slide in to my local gun smith to get mounted. EPS was a better price while also being enclosed.

I also want to play with the optic and make sure my jacked up eyes see it okay. If not I’ll just return it, but I think this is the one!

I used Wager Machine Works to cut my G19, great company to do business with.

My local gun shop is about the same price. Turn around is the same time but I like the idea of not having to worry about it getting lost in the mail.

I also work the same hours as the post office. Range/shop is open til 9pm lol

Now I’ve got to decide between RMR cut and use a plate or get my g19x a k cut which is usually for slim line optics, but the EPS is not a slim line optic.

If you can avoid plate, just avoid it. Keep your dot as low as possible. That would be the best option.

However if you are not decided… cut the slide for RMR and make it universal for most of optics.

I’m leaning towards the k-cut. It’s pretty popular and I’m hoping I don’t have to replace this dot for a very long time if ever.

worst case down the road, it’s not like it’s hard to find a g19 slide.

Got the eps in the mail today. Dot looks good to my eye (with glasses). Super excited to get it mounted now.

It’s humorous how small the little suckers are lol.

Dropped slide and optic to be milled today. Will take a few weeks.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: few weeks?

Are they gonna file it manually?

Wouldn’t be surprised if they mail or drop it off to one of these companies like maple leaf.

regardless it works for me because it’s the same price and I just have to drop it off and pick it up at my local gun shop/ range.

I’m a bit frustrated. I got the slide back today with optic mounted and I like the optic and the slide cut, BUT they did not do a nitride finish. They did the blueing under the optic. I’ve read the blueing is not very effective.

It is a 19X so maybe it was decided to maintain the color, though I thought it was possible to nitride finish just the cut. I’m a bit disappointed in the lack of communication from the shop/ gunsmith. I will ship them in myself in the future.

The blueing works well in dryer climates.
You could have the slide cerakoted.

I’m in a fairly dry climate. This is also more of a home defense gun. I do want to get it covered at some point.

Black Nitride is only $50 cerekote had more color options but I think I care more about the quality of the finish.

I may hold off and see how well the blue holds up but I definitely don’t want to ruin the slide with exposed metal.

This looks like their bluing ran over any input?

This is a nice set up. I am happy with the optic. I’m going to run the gun for awhile and get used to the set up.

I wanted to get all my shop work done at once so I can hold onto the gun, BUT I am thinking of sending it in to Maple leaf to get front slide creations, then I’ll just have them nitride the slide black. I’m going to run the gun awhile and research more first though.

I am not happy with my local shop. They had the gun for 7 weeks, I figured that was 7 weeks to cut and cerekote. When I called them yesterday it magically appeared for pickup.

I really like the dot. I 100% see why people say it helps to Target focus. I definitely need to train with it, but it’s coming fairly natural so far. I could see myself having this on a carry gun.

Did it come like this? Wow… that is a horrible job. How much did you pay for it?
