‘Thank you Mr. Buzzkill’
More info on tax on Social Security:
Bottom line is, YES, we are getting royally screwed by the government!
"SAME AS IT EVER WAS HUH?‘’
Gotta split, be back directly…
Here’s why it wasn’t included, the Byrd Rule
The Summary (pg 1) and Definitions of Extraneous Matter (pg 8) are of relevance.
Essentially, it’s against the rules to make fundamental changes to SS via a reconciliation bill.
It looks like it’ll take a separate legislative process to make that change (no tax on SS) if pursued.
Sigh. Another democrat.
More like the “Give them the Bird” rule.
They seem to cover all the angles when it comes to taking and retaining our money.
In other words, it’s dead.
I would’ve thought no tax on SS would’ve been the easy one while no tax on OT would’ve been fought tooth and nail?
1/3 of the taxes I pay are on overtime!
Give it time.
Mmm… maybe?
I would be more surprised if Trump didn’t push for it than I would if he did. It may even get bipartisan support as the dems would likely face a fierce backlash if they voted nay on a bill that would save seniors money.
Oh, he’ll still push for it. He doesn’t want the backlash either, and it was his promise to push for it.
The dems are looking to capture the “below 40” demographic, and they are the ones who have been told S.S. won’t be around for them.
We’ll see how it shakes out in reality.
I doubt SS will actually be around for me! (47)
Well, as we’ve already seen recently, the hardest thing to do is kill is a government program. Lord knows, Doge is trying!
I think it’ll get passed, probably in the very near future…
The Bill, No Tax on Social Security (H.R. 904)

The sooner, the better!
What’s going to happen to the dem party though, if they start handing big “wins” to the GOP?
The Dems were the ones that initiated SS back when they had the common man’s back, and they were also the ones that decided to tax SS. That’s when they lost it.
Step 1: Abolish the IRS (well, step 1.1 after abolishing the ATF)
Would the IRS give you interest income if your taxes withheld exceeded taxes due?
Oh, Barack’s upset
