Now we have to worry about the USPS?

I guess that shouldn’t be to much of a stretch of the imagination.

I’d find it hard to believe if there wasn’t a government agency that wasn’t overstepping it’s authority & spying on citizens. That would be amazing.

My Faxon barrel from Optics Planet arrived here 2 days ago and then went to Spokane, WA for 2 days, came back today.
Nice to know that USPS is still efficient

The question is, who’s NOT spying on us?
I’m sure my “refuse/sanitation engineer” is spying on my trash!
ME, shredding my empty ammo boxes, mail and anything I can fit in it!

Then as an extra precaution…I go all out Minneapolis! S’mores, anyone?

The USPS has always had mail covers. That’s where some government agency says they want a mail cover on a certain address. The PO puts the mail aside until some dude or dudette from the agency can get to the PO and look over your mail. They don’t open anything, just take notes on from whom you are receiving mail. No search warrant needed. The mail is not being opened. It has been placed in the government postal system and looking at the addresses and making note of them is not illegal. Been done for decades.

In addition, back in the 30s when porn was driving the country straight to hell the PO was placed in charge of intercepting porn and seizing it. How they could tell a book wrapped up in brown paper was porn vs. a book on growing azaleas, I don’t know but apparently postal inspectors had a nose for porn, sort of like the dogs they use these days for sniffing for drugs.

Mail covers are still in vogue. It is amazing what you can tell about folks just by the mail they receive. My company had a good business in maintaining mailing lists for organizations who had too many members to do labels by the sheet but not big enough to interest big mailing houses that want to do thousands of names, not 473. It was amazing the information I could pick up about folks I knew just by sticking labels on mailing pieces or making changes to their addresses.

Realizing the Postmaster General was a controversial appointment by Trump. He violated a Court Ruling instructing him to sweep every Post Office at 5:00p for Mail in Ballots and deliver them that day!
