TLAs are everywhere (TLA = Three Letter Acronym). If you’ve ever been in the military, watched the news, had a hobby, or sent a text, you’ve probably encountered your fair share.
In the self-defense/firearm arena, we have our fair share. The funny part is that there can be multiple TLAs that mean almost the exact same thing.
Take CCW/CCP/LTC – they all mean a permit or license to carry a firearm in a specific state.
CCW – Concealed Carry Weapon – usually referring to the permit/license to carry a concealed weapon or the concealed carry weapon itself depending on context.
CCP – Concealed Carry Permit – the permit issued by certain states to carry a firearm or other restricted weapon concealed.
LTC – License To Carry – the license issued by certain states to carry a firearm or other restricted weapon concealed.
What other TLAs do you think would be helpful for new shooters to know?
