I remember this as if it were yesterday. Still brings a tear to my eyes.

I’ve never actually seen the play. I’m not a hockey guy though I plan for me & my boys to go to a Hurricanes game one day. Cool!

There is a great documentary on “Miracle on Ice”, and a well done movie that explains the importance this win had on the USA. Whether people knew anything about hockey or had ever seen a game didn’t matter…they celebrated after beating the “Soviet Union”, CCCP. Take note, this wasn’t the gold medal game.
Side note: The Lake Placid Arena has been remodeled over the years, with one exception:
The USA Hockey Team’s locker room has remained untouched.
