National carry?

I thought the first Trump was pushing a federal national carry ? After so many restrictions in my state some rifles I have had for decades are now illegal, I gave most of my firearms away prior to the crazy changes , I see the crazy laws on moth east and west coasts, time for national retrecprosity, any fire arm when purchased or made prior to a law change should be 100% level forever,

Yes, Trump wants this and is pushing for it, but remember that POTUS doesn’t create laws. Congress creates laws.

With the exception of EO’s I agree but a president can push for a law just like the big beautiful bill , without the administration pushing for it it wouldn’t ever go any where, I have friends in both parties that have concealed weapons permits so i believe it would pass or be approved nationwide verses the constant erosion of our constitutional rights.

Next time you vote, maybe ask to see your politicians plan on how they will accomplish what they say on the campaign trail. We are all still waiting for eggs to be .99 cents a dozen, gas to be under 2 dollars and the war in Ukraine to be over. You focusing on National Carry seems a little selfish when you look at all the promises he made that actually got Americans to vote for him.

He has fulfilled more campaign promises than any other president in my lifetime, and he stills several years to go, Ukraine, I never thought that was going to happen quickly but he is working on it, I just wish he would have finished the job in Iran, I was in the service when they chased the Shaw out , since that time they have never upheld an agreement along with killing thousands of our troops but that has nothing to do with the topic.

National reciprocity/carry is simply not happening.

Your state making your guns illegal is only fixable by fixing your state locally, moving to a better state, or somehow some way getting the Supreme Court involved

There is no way. No. Way. 0% chance. Congress will pass national reciprocity, it doesn’t matter what POTUS pushes for. This was never going to happen. There are too many democrat states with democrat politicians and influence. CA, NY, NJ, DE, MD, MA, and the like, and their folks, absolutely will not let it happen

I’ve mentioned before my conversations with CT’s Chris Murphy and DaNang Dick Blumenthal the last time hope for 50 state reciprocity went nowhere. Blumenthal actually had a point, mentioned different requirements for a permit in various states, and now with 29 states requiring no official training his point is strengthened imo. Murphy just went full whacko in his response and seems to me there’s more control freak Dems in office now than there were roughly 10 years back when our gop house/senate/POTUS failed to deliver.

Vote for me, I’ll set you free.

What color is the sky in your world?

I went through a Utah class many years ago their requirements were tougher than the Oregon ones but the 2 licenses gave me 32? States I could cary in. I would have no problems if the requirements were tougher that would make sense even, I don’t travel as much as I used to so it’s not a big deal any more to me but if it were available I would probably get it.

I had CT, UT and FL. CT utilized the nra safe pistol training. UT required that cert and a class on gun law, FL was fulfilled with same cert. and done online/snail mail for fingerprints. Only permit left is FL, expires 2027. Now in WV, it’s constitutional carry and I may get my WV permit ($50, refund in your tax return :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:) when FL is about to expire, or just stick to the cc states.

Welllll issue is even requiring a permit is itself an infringement. Requiring training more so, making a higher requirement for the training that takes more time and costs more money and excludes more people, even more of an infringement.

And it’s not even like anyone can show that requiring training or requiring ā€˜more’ training even has a benefit.

This is probably true. If it happens at all, it will come from a SCOTUS ruling, in my opinion anyway.

You are right, I guess I have gotten used to my state infringement on my 2a rights I am very hopeful that the people will wake up like they did on our recent gas tax and registration tax increases that bill pushed by the governor went down 83/17 now we need to do that to the Deamoncraps, but I am sure the vote by mail is rigged in Oregon unless the SAVE act is put into law nothing will change here.

If we have to give full faith and credit to another state’s drivers license, then why not carry permit? But since that’s never going to work, I am curious what compromise people would be willing to live with to get a national permit - range proficiency test, classroom session on stand your ground and other laws? Open carry or only concealed? You’d still have to comply with magazine and ammo restrictions in each state though. Like a race to the top instead of race to the bottom.

Arrest those in power who have continued to defy the Constitution. Rinse & repeat until the Constitution is followed. We’ve already ā€œcompromisedā€ by allowing them to remain in office.

As I mentioned when you live in a state that is taking 2a rights away and even making a rifle(s) that I have had for a decade some 2x that illegal you hope for something, I don’t plan on moving again , if the SAVE act was passed I think the counts would be different but the cowards in the senate are not doing anything and a reason I left the GOP long ago, almost returned this year and even supported house speaker and senator Kennedy, what a mistake 50 spam texts and emails in 1 day now about 10 every day and they did not do the job , just like the failure on a nationwide license or reprocity

Yes, exactly. Trump and all his cabinet should be removed immediately.
