Pete Hegseth confirmed to lead Pentagon after VP Vance casts tie-breaking vote.
Not for lack of the Democrats trying to scuttle this.
Maybe this is our year to champion the NCCR Act bill into enactment. Let’s push it.

Good for goose, good for gander. I think that is hilarious.
There are a ton of NCCRs. What are you typing about?
Good question! I only just heard of this version, but it sounds most pervasive and all encompassing with an adherence by the states to 2A the Second Amendment without their restrictions on it.
Unfortunately, I have to say I’m not holding my breath.
We got some pleasantly unexpected momentum going for us right now:
Not only did DJT win but, by a landslide, and not just him, we took some Capable Seats in both houses of Congress, the Senate and the Representatives, enough to counter several RINO defections on confirmation votes for some of the most hotly contested and staunchly resisted cabinet nominees.
So, why be pessimistic about this bill passing just became it was not as well supported in the past.
This time out of the gate is a much more politically favorable atmosphere with its best chance ever.
I am hopping optimistic that we got this; this time around, like never before.
I think that right now is this bill’s best chance of success that we ever had.
Why let that slip past us?
What we need is the momentum of a runaway freight train!
3rd one see nothing again…
Isn’t a ruling by the Supreme Court the only way to put this to bed? Somebody has to challenge State jusristiction with regard to a constitutional amendment. Juss sayin’
We have a new starting lineup, and a new bill better that the previous in its simplicity, with a big kickoff effect, and a lot more support behind it from jump.
Give it a chance, and some encouragement, and I bet it happens sooner than later in this term.
Quotes from Ronald Reagan:
Government’s first a duty is to protect the people, not run their lives. (End restrictions on 2A.)
Will you allow government to control you, or will you control government. (End restrictions on 2A.)
This is our chance to end states’ restrictions on our (2A) Second Amendment rights.
Please support the bills NCCR and Constitutional Carry that support our rights under 2A to carry across state lines just the same as we can drive across state lines without having to lock our firearms in the trunk inaccessible to us leaving us defenseless, and vulnerable to criminals.
Especially the Constitutional Carry bill simply restores our 2A rights that should never have been restricted (infringed on) in the first place.
The Constitution has a Supremacy Clause that should have kept the States from infringing on 2A.
It’s our time to right that wrong.
Thank you
I think a ruling by the Supreme Court would be good, but unfortunately there are state governments that aren’t afraid to openly defy the court and continue passing unconstitutional laws.
After New York got slapped down by SCOTUS, their governor openly said they would not be told what to do by anyone, and just tristed their anti-carry laws around to make them even tougher on citizens. Of course, those laws are being challenged again, and may in some number of years make their way back to SCOTUS, but in the meantime, NY keeps its lock on the 2A. This merry-go-round continues forever.
A federal law, enforceable by federal law enforcement, would make it much harder for states to get away with the illegal activity. Unfortunately there is no punishment for state and local officials for violating the constitution, only civil suits.
I agree a Supreme Court ruling is overdue.
Where have they been on asserting the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause over states’ unconstitutional infringement restrictions on 2A?
Where has the Supreme Court been?
The Supreme Court should have ruled all state restrictions on 2A as unconstitutional a long time ago.
And, let’s say, SCOTUS does rule that no state can restrict the lawful residents of another state from carrying across state lines. Here’s what New York would do next…
They’d pass a law saying that anyone carrying in from another state must, immediately upon entry to New York, stop at the nearest State Police station for a full background check, a complete search of all weapons and magazines, (looking for those “high capacity magazines” that are so dangerous) to be fingerprinted, and to “register” any and all weapons in the big NY database (all things any New Yorker has to do that wants to carry). Maybe you’d even have to pass a live fire qualification. All this should only take several hours or days upon entry and you’ll be on your way. Welcome to New York. Oh, also, your license plate will be recorded and put in a database for police that you are an out-of-stater carring a concealed weapon. One wrong move (don’t drive past a school or into park land accidentally) and you’re off to prison.
I’m sure New York would think of a dozen more ways to make life hell for lawful carriers, but you get the point. Only a strong federal law affirming the second amendment, and outlawing onerous state restrictions will work.
Or we do what we’ve been doing, which is avoid blue states, areas, stores, etc. They’ll figure it out or they won’t. Either is okay. Change is the only true constant.
We should not be paralyzed from action by what a state might do.
There are 49 other states, the D.C., and U.S. Territories that may not do anything.
That is far better than the number of current states that allow cross state Reciprocity with their different laws in effect.
Further, if the most current bill proposed for Constitutional Carry vs. Reciprocity alone, would not only promote reciprocity, but help eliminate a lot of the states’ unique arbitrary restrictions that they hold individually in addition to dissolving the boundaries between the states allowing us not only to carry across state lines but, with far fewer differences between the states.
I’m amazed that at this point no one has brought up the issue of disparity of rights? Here in KY I can carry anywhere in the adjacent states ECEPT Illinois. Yet, an Illinois CC holder CAN legally carry here. Is that not a disparity in rights, heck even discrimination against those who can’t carry in Pritzerville? Since the law of the land is “equal treatment under the law”I’d think a discrimination suit could force the issue from the Supremes.
Yes it is a disparity of rights. I’m in Tennessee and we have the same problem, we honor 48 other states but, in turn are only honored by 37 other states. I think that rather than not honoring states that don’t honor us, we are trying to win them over.
If this Constitutional Carry Act bill gets adopted it should eliminate all those disparities and even the playing field under the Constitution and its Second Amendment the way it was originally intended. With no infringements by any states on it. At least that’s its purpose.
Any of those obstacles from traveling armed interstate should be eliminated.
Time will tell but, I am more hopeful than ever that we will see this happen.
There has been such a positive political change to set the stage for this to succeed like never before.
