M&P Shield Plus or Shield 2.0?

I am new to all this and I got a P320 RSX X-Compacr about 3 months ago. It was my first gun but thinking of a EDC so I been looking at the shield but now the plus is coming out

Both s & w are fine weapons, nice trigger on the plus & reset. Plus seems to be a hair wider on the grip not an issue. Perhaps the added ammo is a feature for you also more options. So not much help from me.

The fact that they changed and improved the trigger and added capacity and it still remains a concealable gun, I would consider the Shield plus as a purchase.

I agree, as a shield owner I would consider the shield plus. If price is an issue, you can get a shield 1.0 for pretty cheap.

You really can’t go wrong with any shield, but I agree with @Johnnyq60 most guns the same size of the shield 2.0 (and some even smaller) hold more rounds. If price is not an issue, a gun the same size but holding 5 more rounds is a much better buy.

I agree with others.
Plus version is nothing more than extra rounds (which is great for small gun) and improved trigger.
All other specs are the same as M2.0 so I’ll go with Shield Plus.

I been playing with the shield 2.0 and love it and was getting ready to buy one. Is the shield plus the same gun just with a bigger grip?

Basically yes. With better trigger.
It also fits Sheild M2.0 holsters.

^ +1 you will pay close to the same for the plus as the 2.0 from my understanding unless the 2.0 shield goes down in price (which for some reason I think that will be awhile).

@AZJustMe2021 , the Shield plus has just a tad thicker grip due to more capacity 10+1, 13+1. also the trigger is a different but better trigger. I think if you save about $100 more you get the Shield plus.

Just picked the shield plus today and having two issues that maybe this group can help with

  1. At 5 Yards all the shots are about 2" to the left?
  2. My barrel within 50 shots looks like its chipping?

Can someone please help?

@AZJustMe2021 did you check the barrel before you fired the gun because sometimes quality assurance lets one slip through the cracks.

Yea I did…

I should not be chipping like that I would call up Smith and Wesson and be guided by what they tell you. Those chips can turn to rust and that is a brand new gun which is rare for that to happen.

Your target does not look bad though and if anything the shots are about 2" to the right. Easy fix, sights may be a little off.

No if you look I was trying for the center numbers

@AZJustMe2021, I was looking at the 4 shots to the center right.

I was trying to hit the numbers on the right with them

Trigger control… trigger control… trigger control :joy: Especially with smaller handguns.

Have you ever tried to shot two handed grip but using NON dominant hand?
This is the best test for your grip and trigger press.
During the shot, don’t think how weird and badly your grip feels, just focus on front sight and put few rounds in the center of the target. Pay attention to the trigger. Press until you feel the wall, then reacquire alignment → rear → front → target → front… then boom.
See how it goes…

@Johnnyq60 got it covered :muscle:

Smith & Wesson replaced it for me.

They have great customer service. I’m disappointed that you had to do that with a newly released gun, but I’m glad they took care of you.
