I think what @Alexander8 is referring to was Hornady’s vaccine mandate for their employees. If I remember correctly, it’s how they went about it was kinda shady…
I can let that slide… once. We were fed misinformation from the CDC from the get go. The whole Country was in uncharted territory with regard to the scare tactics. Most people I know took the jab out of fear. We are more informed now.
CEO wanted to play Dr.Mengele with his employees, sent ultimatum email.
It wasnt the CDC writing ultimatum email, it was the CEO of Hornady.
“I was just following orders” didnt fly in Nuremberg.
I’m not sure if this applied to Hornady but I believe there was a government mandate for awhile that all employees of companies that contracted with the US government had to be vaccinated or the company would loose the contract.
I got terminated for not showing proof of vaccination to one of the companies I did occasional work for that had government contracts even though the occasional work I was doing for them didn’t involve government contracts at the time. My project manager tried to fight it but the higher ups were worried about loosing all their government contracts so they dumped me. Pretty silly since I was doing solo work outdoors with my own vehicle.
So Hornady may not have had much of a choice in this case thanks to government threats??
Yes, there was that requirement. It was Brandon’s backdooor way of trying to force vaccines after he found out he couldnt just make the whole population get them. They could make a “rule” that any US govt vendor had to be fully vaxxed, even if you were not interacting with gov people at all.
My company is a gov vendor, and they forced it on all of us, but did allow medical and religious exceptions. I had already gotten the one dose Johnson shot, so it didn’t matter to me. A lot of people had no choice. Either lose the government contract, which would bankrupt many companies, or, as an individual, get fired, which was a bad option when so many businesses were shutting down.
So they gave you a choice: get miocarditis or get fired. You chose wisely.
There is always a choice. As far as I am concerned Steve Hornady chose boycott and infamy.
I was lucky in that this was a company that I did very little work for though it was a recurring gig I could count on every month. But I could afford to get fired from them since I knew other options would come along.
If I had no other options for paying the mortgage and putting food on the family table then I might have been forced to give in to the government mandated blackmail threats.
The sucky thing is a couple of my doctors were obviously leery of me getting the Covid 19 shots because of my previous heart issue but they wouldn’t write me a medical waiver because it went against the CDC recommendations and they likely would have lost their jobs for writing the waiver.
The government used economic blackmail to force compliance. We should be blaming the Brandon administration, not business leaders who truly had no choice. The business leaders were facing honest to God shut down by Osha, and the employees were facing job loss. The business leaders weren’t slipping the vaccines into the water cooler. It was employment at will, and if I wanted, I was free to quit and find work elsewhere at a company that was small enough or didn’t do government work. They had the CEO and me by the short hairs, and from what I can see, Steve Hornady was in a similar situation. I’m sure Remington, Federal and all the others had the same mandate.
I knew my CEO, and had tremendous respect for him. He really truly cared about his people, and did everything in his power to hold the company together and keep everyone’s jobs, when we were hemorrhaging money. It all stressed him out so much he developed health issues and stepped down after it was passed.
Lets put the blame where it belongs: Brandon.
When the FBI comes a-knocking on your door, should we make that assumption? With all of their known corruption and Gestapo tactics in the past several or more years, and beyond, I would be remiss to believe without evidence that what the FBI did in a particular situtation was justified.
You know medical stats put 10 year limit on life expectancy after suffering miocarditis, dont you. I mean, it is better for a family to lose their house and keep the father, than the other way around.
I hope you had found better dr’s since. The ones you had didnt care much about you.
To their credit, though, in April 2018 they did this:
While it may not make a difference to New York, Hornady will not knowingly allow our ammunition to be sold to the Government of the State of NY or any NY agencies. Their actions are a blatant and disgusting abuse of office and we won’t be associated with a government that acts like that. They should be ashamed.
-Steve Hornady, president of Hornady Manufacturing Company
Well at great risk to their own careers they were able to get the point across that I should think long and hard before taking the vaccine.
I think the vaccine related miocarditis impacts are going to be very hard to determine over time since it is both a complication of the vaccine and the virus. And recent studies show that unvaccinated people are being exposed to the vaccine through contact with vaccinated people. A grand ol uncontrolled experiment.
The “backdoor” is likely there to help those that forget their code to get back in their safe.
I’m also pretty sure that if law enforcement has a warrant to search your home stating a search for weapons or documents, this would reasonably include the safe as a location such items may be stored, the homeowner would need to provide access or face additional obstruction charges or the possibility of the police, FBI in this case, breaking into the safe. Having said that, I am more concerned about the judge issuing the warrant than I am of Liberty Safe’s willingness to provide the code based on identification by “unique” notches on ears. Really?
You sound like an empathic and forgiving man. I think they are trying to repeat the situation again, so you will have an opportunity to practice empathy and forgiveness.
Makes you wonder who else in the 2A community is also just a poser.

Liberty Safe, which describes itself as “America’s #1 heavy-duty home and gun safe manufacturer,” has come under fire after a report revealed that its parent company has donated almost half a million dollars to pro-gun control Democratic officials. On Wednesday, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shared FEC filings on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that show Liberty Safe’s parent company, Monomoy Capital Partners, has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democrats. “I pulled the FEC reports on the company and found approximately $400,000 over the last 10 cycles of max donations to Democrats,” Kirk wrote.

Gentlemen:
For a real combination lock gun safe you have nothing to worry about. Only electronic combination locks may have this company backdoor. Always chose a safe with a mechanical combo lock like a Sargent & Greenleaf lock. They are wha thr government uses for their most secure storage containers. They are strictly mechanical, and are changeable. I’ve been successfully and securely using them since 1976. They also make padlocks the same way, but more portable. Why Liberty chose such a system is clear—they wanted you to have a simple way to call them and have them remotely open your safe for them. Not too secure, is it? They were trying to save you a safe cracker expense. Stick to Sargent & Greenleaf. GSA approved.
Such corporate hypocrisy deserves a “Bud-Lite” response.
