They finally get the safe open and it’s filled with comic books. ![]()
Like Rivera looking for Capone’s safe.
Liberty makes the store branded safes for Cabelas and Bass Pro
Found the place, but as it is in France, not likely to be going. Have you been there, before, or just picked random coordinates? The name is ironic, though, we usually lose our firearms in water, and this place, has a water-related name, isn’t in a body of water. It is near a river, though.

An access code kind of defeats the purpose of a safe, doesn’t it?
Now it’ll be accessible knowledge for any DOJ employee for any purpose, lawful or not.
Not every DOJ employee can pick a mechanical lock.
Then make them spend the 15 minutes with the hammer and screwdriver.
The reports I saw showed that in 2021 Liberty was bought out, and like fox, it came under left leaning ownership that regularly give their money to left leaning causes or candidates while continuing to sell their product to people whose values they oppose. At first, I thought that Liberty’s response to the concerns their actions had caused was just what it should have been, but now that I know who owns it, and what they give their money too, that response has to be taken in light of who it is that offered it.
The new owners screwed up and ended up exposing themselves for who they are, so be it.
It’s something we all have to be very aware of. Once trusted entities may, without warning, be discovered to be under new leadership, leadership that does not value the constitution or it’s values the way the previous leadership did. I can’t count the number of institutions I’ve seen that this has happen too in the last many years.
I used to read Scientific American regularly, but the very first issue after it changed hands was so obviously agenda driven that there was little doubt there was new leadership in charge, as indeed there was. It was to be the first of many American Icons that was to fall in the coming years. It wasn’t long before I didn’t see it on the shelves any more, but that was ok, it was not about science any more, it had become political.
@Shamrock you were right. Liberty released a statement, and it doesn’t look good for their bottom line in near future. Would be less damage if they hired Dylan Bud–Light to do their commercials.
At Liberty Safe, we are dedicated to safeguarding the rights and privacy of all our customers. It is a promise that remains deeply personal to our employees and leadership. Our company, one of America’s oldest and largest safe manufacturers, was founded on the belief that Americans should have the fundamental right to protect and safeguard their valuables and property.
As a courtesy to our customers, Liberty Safe has long adhered to industry standards by maintaining a secure database of factory-set combinations. This practice helps customers regain access to their safe for a wide range of reasons, including loss of the original combination, service requests, and warranty issues. Liberty Safe processes over 4,000 requests of this type annually and provides combinations to safe owners only once they provide clear documentation of their identity and their ownership of the safe.
We listen to our customers and update our products and practices in response to their evolving needs. Today, we are announcing a change that empowers our customers with greater control over their information: Effective immediately, existing customers can visit Combination Removal Request Form – Liberty Safe and fill out the form to have records of their access codes expunged. In the coming weeks, we will be releasing a feature that gives every new customer this option when registering their safe.
This change allows customers to take control of how their information is stored and protected. We understand that many of our customers are willing to assume the responsibility of safeguarding their own combination.
While those who opt out of our data storage process will have limited recourse in case of a lost combination, we respect their choice and are here to support them in the way that’s best for them.
We have also revised our policies around cooperation with law enforcement. Going forward we will require a subpoena that legally compels Liberty Safe to supply access codes but can only do so if these codes still exist in our system.
Our mission is to protect what matters most to our customers, whether that be valuables or privacy.
It is our pledge to continue to make excellent products that serve gun owners everywhere.
I was on one of the gun guys and they were saying Liberty higher ups I guess had been donating to the darkside ![]()
Closing the safe door after the gun got away.
Or how about this… dont be a dumb s#!t and piss of the FBI, and you wont have to worry about it.
Well these days it seems to be getting a lot easier to upset the authorities. Just doing things that used to be considered constitutionally protected rights seems to be getting them all worked up these days.
Or how about this, the FBI follows the law and get a warrant that names Liberty instead of having them on speed dial.
Hmmm…being as how simply reading the forums on this site, or when the political winds change and your everyday existence somehow becomes an issue for the FBI how is that avoided?
Reverse the politization of the FBI and have them obey the constitutional rights of the US citizens, that to me is the best approach.
This topic wound up being investigated and broadcast on the RAV or NEWSMAX channels last night - check their archives to see if it’s available. “SAFE” isn’t safe anymore - I’m wondering who else has caved in to this, and have NOT been exposed - I’ve heard a rumor that SMITH has caved in to political pressure, and has begun to install action-locks in their revolvers, to emulate Taurus.
An RSC was never “SAFE” from the FBI when they showed up with a warrant and wanted in, though. I mean, again, if the FBI is going into your house with a warrant and you have an RSC from ____ and they want in, they are getting in. That was never in doubt.
They are counting, correctly so, on the Americans’ short memories. Example: how many people praised quality of Hornady ammo on this forum as of recent? Personally, I have not bought a single round from them since 2021, and have no intent to do so in the future.
I saw a couple articles today about how surprised all the industry analysts are regarding the apparent permanance of Bud Light’s 30% loss of market share. They were under the delusion that the customers didn’t really care that much about their boycott, or would return. It’s not like their watered down wheat water was anything special. It’s permanent.
Now, maybe I’ve been under a rock, but what’s wrong with Hornady? I use it in one of my SD pistols. Maybe I’m late to the party here.
Referring to short memory, how about “political amnesia”? Ted Kennedy was guilty of at least some degree of manslaughter, a la Alec Baldwin - but he still continued to be re-elected, where he held several chair positions on"key" committees - for a total span of 42 years, and since I’d been 12. His extra-curricular shenanigans were glossed over, as well. We MUST have term-limits - even to apply to the Supreme Court!
I’m wondering the same. What’s up with them?
Just FYI, Cannon is known to do the same, so long as LEO presents a valid warrant for the residence they will hand over master codes. Thats digital and mechanical locks afaik.
