I’m excited because I can finally grab a 4.0 slide assembly and put it on my extra full sized frame for a 19x build. It’s like getting a new gun for $300.

Just ordered a bolt action upper for the AR platform in 400legend. Since im in a restricted area of MI, should be a fun deer gun. Im a 450 bushmaster guy but we will see

Finally making this thread! After lots of research and range sessions of trying as many guns as my range had, I finally brought home my new and first gun today!
Went with the FN Reflex XL. Just love the way it fits and feels in my hands, the high grip texture, and feels so good shooting - ok and yeah, I love the way it looks too. This was the one that made me smile. Like that one golf shot that brings you back to the course, this is the one I couldn’t wait to get back to the range for. Loaded with Federal personal defense hollow point 9mm at 10+1 max capacity limit per my state law (MA).
Although I have posted a couple times asking questions in the community, I haven’t formerly introduced myself. So being new to gun ownership and lifestyle and this community, I’ll post in the introduction thread a little bit about me to do so.

If it shoots good and I like it, that shiny bbl is gonna be blacked out. I’ve got a bull bbl in 556 upper that I blacked out. A stainless bbl for hunting just isn’t my thing.

I have a stainless 270, I like it except for exactly the reason you stated, makes me feel like a homing beacon some times…
Some folks like the stainless, some dont. Had a 338 in AK that I krylon painted black. Must have prepped it well cuz it actually held up pretty good.
If this rifle suits my needs, ill do something similar. I was never one who got wrapped up in cosmetics for hunting.
