Congrats on your choice and your timing… keep us posted on how you like it.
Man, did I ever get it at the right time! Only thing is that I can’t go to my gun club to shoot, as my town is under a shelter in place order.
Before the hoopla, I put about 500-600 rounds through it (maybe more). I love this pistol and I can’t wait to practice some more with it. It’s taken me some time to learn the RDS, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got it sussed. Getting plenty of dry fire practice though.
It’s taking me a little getting used to carrying it. I carried a 4 inch Springfield XD 9 before. I thought a smaller pistol would be easier to carry, but I’ve had to learn where and how to carry it. I’ve switched to AIWB, and I’m liking it very much.
Anyway, that’s my review for now! Stay safe and well, everyone!
I am finally able to get a new Sig rifle I’ve been wanting…er … needing…
I go online to purchase and see this…story of my life

Welcome to the shooting world. I think you are going to love it.
Nice, I like it.
Thanks, got it zero’d and a little trigger time before all this nonsense broke loose. I like it a lot so far. The fit and finish is outstanding.
Yeah, can’t wait until this nonsense is over. I need to get out and smell some gunpowder and feel the power!
Now we know where you are…
And we will come to take your TP ![]()
“All your TP are belong to us.”
How do you like that optic??? I see Sig has it to fit my P365XL and am considering it…thx!
And for reply to OP:
Does it have matching stamping ? Love that you got the holster. They have a book out that shows who was issued the gun back then.
Yeah, all numbers match on it. From what I gathered, it wasn’t anything special other than police issue. But you never know. What book are you referring to? Would be interesting to see if it was listed. Shoots really nice for a 100+ year old gun!
Don’t hold me to it Jason, but I remember reading that after that chapter was over they pretty much rounded up all the weapons that was used and modified them with some feature and redistributed them to the police.
Don’t have a pic yet since it’s a special order, however soon i will be the proud owner of a S&W M&P 2.0 Performance Center C.O.R.E. 9mm with the 4.25" barrel.
Anyone have any RMR suggestions? It doesn’t come with one, i will have to get supressor height night sights as well.
The trijicon RMR is the gold standard. Also… it costs a lot of gold
I’ve heard good things about the Leopold DeltaPoint Pro. And Aaron Cowan at Sage Dynamics is a fan of the Holosuns (he loves to beat up equipment).
If this is a competition/race gun the Trijicon SRO i hear is great (way bigger window)
And if you don’t need a “duty grade” optic there are a lot more options. I have a Vortex Viper Venom I like a lot (splits time on my .22LR pistol/rifle), and there is a new-ish USA based but built in China company called Swampfox Optics that is gaining a pretty good rep and they have a low-cost red dot as well and IIRC it uses the RMR mount plates (but dont quote me on that)
Some videos…
This is actually what i was looking for. Something accurate but can take a beating just in case. I’m not planning on torture testing my gear, but i do want reliable enough that if SHTF it won’t be a liability.
In that event I think you have the Trijicon RMR, the Leopold deltapoint pro as the leaders. The new Aimpoint Acro (new, and large size, check the review above), and the Holosuns (new, dont have the track-record) are a notch below. Off the top of my head I cant think of anything else that is generally regarded as “duty grade” and trusted by LEO/MIL.
I don’t have any new guns. When the wife sees a gun she says, I’ve not seen that one before is it new? No dear I’ ve had that for a while now😁
