Post Office parking lots are federally illegal, as discussed prior within this thread. You cannot legally go to the post office and leave your pistol in your car in the post office parking lot.
There are also various states with laws against guns in parking lots.
School parking lots are also parking lots in which it may be illegal to have a gun in your car.
There are a lot of parking lots out there where having a firearm is illegal
If I am carrying & in my car which is usually , I have a simple lock box that is cabled to the seat mount. I know that it’s not Fort Knox but at least it’s a deterrent for a thief to move along to an easier crime. I do obey gun laws so if I am entering a business with a 30.6/30.7 or 51percent sign, I will lock my pistol in the lock box even if I am only going to be inside for a few minutes. It’s not much but it is a deterrent that apparently worked when my car was broken into overnight in my driveway. There was no pistol in the box but the theives did not cut the cable & take the box. Obviously I push the box under the seat.
there are quite a few affordable, relatively low priced locking handgun safes with heavy ,strong steel attaching cables looped and locked thru the seat frame is quite secure and safe. I have several and always have one in my vehicle to secure my firearm when on vacation or going to town.out of town I feel confident using it locked , & secured to seat frame in my vehicle with alarm armed. its out of sight and difficult enough to remove or open that under pressure with alarm sounding i dont think to many criminals would linger for very long . relatively cheap insurance. get one I highly recommend you get one and use it
I was thinking more along the lines of dodge ball except the government is throwing the threat of jail sentences at us if we don’t comply with their ever changing rules instead of relatively soft bouncy balls.
Would love to see this stupid unconstitutional law thrown out. It just makes no sense especially when banning the customers from carrying when picking up their mail or even parking in the parking lot.
Not being allowed to have the gun in your car is completely ludicrous!!! It not only violates the 2nd amendment but its your car who are they to regulate what you have in your car. I would imagine Ben Franklin is spinning in his grave knowing what his PO has resorted to.
I live in Nevada
So yeah my gun goes with me. We are an open carry state and we can get ccw with training and registration for the ccw. If I ever get told that I am not allowed to carry with my ccw I just don’t go there We here in Nevada have the castle law for our homes and vehicles. Also with the ccw our Sheriff considers us citizen deputies.
Sorry I didn’t mean to say that it is and actual registration. I just figured since I have to go to the mall police station and apply for my ccw with the state and Fed’s and another background check . That at some point I am in the system of registered gun owners. They finger printed me as well. So registered I f I am wrong about this let me know why?
Mike 164 I have hidden compartments and no way can anyone find them in my vehicle so I’m good . And they don’t open with knowing how they work but no one can find them
