Don’t know the details yet. I post this just to make the point, it can happen anywhere, in town, in the desert.
Kanarraville is a pretty remote area in central/southern Utah.
This falls under the Category of: YOU NEVER KNOW.
This is also why I stay ‘ARMED AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS’ now.My family (Sister and I) have a firearm within reach now 24/7.
I cannot believe it has come to this that my fabulous Sister is ‘packing heat’
while she Crochet’s in HER OWN living room!
I have a handgun in my Refrigerator (JIC to give me that extra second if I am
caught without a gun on in the middle of the night as I go for a Gatorade or drink.
YOU NEVER KNOW.
A lot of you say you carry when you do yard work, Cook on the Grill out front, work on
cars outside (me). How has this world come to this? Simple----
"It can happen in the middle of nowhere (or in your damn Living room)
It’s a dangerous world now folk’s
ACT ACCORDINGLY.
I had to look at a map to see where this place is. Remote does not accurately describe the area. This is the kind of town where the “You are now entering…” and “You are now leaving…” signs are on opposite sides of the same post.
I’m not to that point yet as I only have the one pistol for me and one for the Wifey. I do have a small sling pack I toss things in for my middle of the night excursions. It already has 4 mags in it. I sling the pack over a shoulder, grab my pistol, my phone, my glasses and off I go into the darkness. At some point in time the pistol and phone make it into the pack.
Brother I don’t have a lot of guns (since that tragic boating accident on Elephant Butte Lake–Last year) But one lesson I was taught very young is NEVER SELL A GUN!.
Except for injury or incident where the man took it for ‘investigate purposes’ I stuck to that.
Now that we have to ‘Register’ all our new purchases I am not about to break that trend. So, one in my bathroom, Fridge (right next to the Almond milk!), bed holster etc. Because You Neva Know!
(It’s tough stepping over the Vintage Caisson for the Cannon in front of the door as I age…but I manage! )
Agree 100%- NEVER, ever sell a gun. If it’s a bad/dangerous/unreliable gun, maybe break it down and destroy it so someone won’t be hurt by it, but I am the same way- keep them all. For one thing, that gun is connected to me back at some LGS on my 4473. Once it leaves my possession, I can’t ever be sure it won’t pull me into some crime somewhere in the future.
I loved JD Vance’s description of his “Mammaw” keeping, I think, 19 loaded handguns around her house! Always ready- God bless her!
As for bad things happening in the middle of no where, remember, the 5000 year old “ice man” found frozen way up in the Alps? Way, way up in the freaking middle of no where? He was murdered.
I know your feels, Brother. Gettin’ old HURTS! My Wife complaints about having to swim through the moat full of Crocogators all the time when She goes out, But it’s there for a reason.
No, he fell on that arrow… either that or it was a negligent discharge. Either that, or he was the first incarnation of Hitler and he needed killin’.
His murder led to a ban on assault arrows, but eventually it failed because the bad guys wouldn’t give up their arrows.
It is important for the public to know that this is an isolated incident
No pun intended…
Population 442 (2020 US Census), minus one, now.
Brother, I never venture into my Moat! Those alleygator’s are use to a diet of friendly Rio Grande crossers (I got a KILLER deal on them from the BP!) THEY WERE FAT FAT FAT! It might have been (30) MILLION Invaders if it wasn’t for the flotilla of Gator’s in the RG.
(It’s not the WALL (or lack of) they have to worry about!)
House For Sale also!
Quiet Cottage, remote views, slight smell of Bleech and an abundance of Crime Scene Tape! (good for ‘Kite Tails’ for the children)
I am a 75 year old retired veteran. I conceal carry and have several types of loaded protectors in my home. I watched JD Vance, at the RNC convention, tell the story of his grandmothers passing. He found sixteen(?) loaded handguns placed around her home. She couldn’t move quickly at her age, so place a loaded protector within reach. YOU NEVER KNOW, so be prepared. God bless America.
Update. Drugs!?!?! No Way, How Could That Be!?!?
I liked that. My mother nearly 90 has 3 staged around her place. We go in and secure them when the Great Grand Babies are on their way over. She’d do it but we just like to make sure.
Thank you for your service to this Country!
He’s being charged w/ Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda and oh yeah
According to the probable cause statement filed in support of his arrest, Jessop is also being investigated in connection with the shooting death" . He was caught w/ the ‘Alleged Murder weapon’ and KILLED THIS GUY!" I almost forgot! sheesh!
My wife’s home place is about a half mile up the road from them. I’ve posted before about how dangerous it could be in my home county I think Chi town has us beat now but don’t go there with a chip on your shoulder. You might not make it back out.
@Bradley64 Welcome to the community!
The town I live in only has one signpost with the name of the town on both sides. They didn’t put the now entering and now leaving on it. That would confuse everyone.
Your Dad said not to sail a gun. Sounds like a lot of people here didn’t listen. Pardon me while I get my scuba gear.
