I have seen all types of ads for a National CCW. Is there really one that covers states such as CA, OR, CO, etc? That is, without being a law enforcement officer, or some other high-end, elite status? I am talking about the general lay person. I have a CCW for my home state and Utah.

I doubt it.
Regulations concerning carrying weapons are considered states rights. Any federal license would overrule the states rights.
I’ve seen the advertisements also, and advertisements for individual state CCW licenses. I consider them all scams. I wish there was one all encompassing license.

I agree they are probably scams and one can do the paperwork themselves for their own state. Hard time to believe that states such as CA, OR, CO, etc would allow such a permit holder in their state; probably assume the person is up to no good.

The only licence that works in CA comes from CA and you have to be a CA resident to have a chance of getting one. CO and maybe OR have reciprocity with some other States licenses/permits. There are some State licenses that will work in many and even most States (up to maybe 40 I think) but not one that will work in all 50.

My Colorado permit is pretty widely accepted.
In all of those “with restrictions” yellow states, when I’ve checked what that restriction was. It was being older than 21 and not being a prohibited person ( many of them are constitutional carry states anyway)
In general Colorado recognizes any out of state PERMIT from a state that recognizes ours. (Meaning if you live in a constitutional carry state and don’t have an actual permit,… don’t conceal your gun in Colorado)
Colorado also does not recognize “non resident” licenses. So your Nevada non resident license isn’t valid in Colorado.
National reciprocity would be amazing! Imho it should be national constitutional carry…. But I seriously doubt we will ever see either happen.

Pretty sure there’s not. Most states, I believe, only issue permits to residents or military personnel permanently stationed in said state.

Absolutely not. A national CCL/CCW does not exist. Those ads started popping up after Virginia passed a law allowing the required training for the Virginia license to be done online. Those companies give you an online firearms safety training then tell you how to submit for a non-resident license in a state that allows online training and has a relatively reasonable list of reciprocal states.
In general, most useful solution is to get your own home state permit and add an Utah non-resident permit on top of that one. There are instructors around the country approved to teach the Utah non-resident course.

, kind off, sort of, trying to get there, or at least half the country is “Constitutional Carry” 
no permits required. That’s at least half Nation wide BUT 
“President Donald J Trump” can get the other half in and it’ll be “NATION WIDE CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY”! NO PERMITS/ NO RECIPROCITY!

I normally support states rights. However, in this case the states have usurped our constitutional rights, and they need to be stopped with some recognition of “constitutional carry” as the framers intended.
