Is 45 ACP "a waste of space"?

I loved the Colt 45 I was issued when I was in the Army. One of the hardest things I had to do was to turn in my weapon’s cards for my 45, 12 gauge shot gun and the M16 (the M16 was still a machine gun. Not the 3 round burst it is now). My wife being the thoughtful woman she is bought me a Colt 45 government model for father’s day a few years back. I love that gun. What’s funny is I go to the firing range more often. I do carry a Tauras G2 9mm with a 12 round capacity for easier concealment. In my opinion if you need more than 7 rounds to take down a life threatening attacker, you shouldn’t be carrying a gun. Cheers.

Sounds like you could say the same thing about 30 super carry versus 9mm. Unfortunately the 9mm guys all sound like 45 guys when the 30 comes into the conversation. For the record, I like the 45 and usually carry it, but I’ll occasionally carry 40 or even 9.

I remember the hard way I learned when I first started carrying a pistol in the 1990s. it was a Walther PPK in 380. It took me a fairly good time to get to the point where I actually could shoot reliably what I was aiming at. Also I can’t recount how many times I had slide drags across the web of my hand. Just something to think about, small guns are not necessarily the serve all.

All relative if you live in a free state

Bang those 20 round freedom sticks all you want

But if are in one of those 10 rounds or less?, 45 all day

Unless you go with an exotic like a Ruger LCR in 357, Then all bets are off

So we should all be carrying 30 round 22 lr handguns by your logic? I’m so sick of this 9 is as good as everything. Feds went to it because they lowered their officer standards and it’s cheaper. Basic physics says heavier and faster is better.
