I use a laser training system like Mantis to supplement. It does not beat the range but at least it is something.

My recommendation is to buy an Airsoft or BB gun replica of your carry and defensive weapons. Then practice in your own hallway or backyard. All you need for a backstop to mount your targets is a six-inch thick cardboard box filled with newspaper or old rags.

I carry a 1911 and have two blowback replicas, a BB and an Airsoft. During the time of Covid when the range was closed I practiced with these at about 8 yards twice a week. Once my range reopened, I was surprised to find no deterioration in my shooting skills.
